Kino Pet not alive
#1
I gifted the Kino Pet to another account of mine today after the patch and when I picked it up it said the water of life had dried up.

Another win patch. Hothead

i was super excited about this pet and i cant use o.o?!!@!

look at the description, pet whose life will never expire, yet my pet is fucken dead

I'm still buying it. Since it's an NX related glitch, you can be sure Nexon will readily fix (and possibly give compensation of additional points) it shortly.

Still funny though.

This SS about sums up my opinion of Nazison and its endless clumsy (yet effective) money-grubbing antics.

Well, it certainly doesn't expire, and you don't have to go through all that trouble of buying a normal kino that is already alive to get a permanant dead kino! Huzzah! Goggleemoticon

Contributing to dead Kino count.

Hopefully it's fixed before the 15th. I still need to transfer my Robo's closeness before it dries up.

Thank you for contribuiting to by fail Kino count. Did you buy yours or gift it? Someone else has a working Kino! =(

FYI the pet that looses the closeness on the transfer can be dead. I used it to transfer closeness from dead turckies from the last free trucky give away event.

And be sure to log a ticket about your dead Kino! =(

Don't worry, since it's an NX related incident, Nexon will fix it up quickly.

It was gifted from my other account. Thanks for the info too, glad I can transfer from dead pets.

Oh yeah, I'm sure they will. That's why I gifted, knowing this would happen. Though, thinking it through, I probably should have just charged $10 on my outlaw. Oh well, what's done is done.

You can transfer closeness even if the pet's life has dried up. Rolleyes

The same way Nexon did for the item lock expiration mess...

Which is completely different, because in this case players aren't loosing out on their non-NX items(which Nexon is touchy about replacing). Nexon seems perfectly fine with fixing purely NX related item issues if it was a widespread problem that was their fault. If you noticed, Nexon completely compensated the value of the NX locks and item tags lost from the glitch. It was just the items themselves and the meso value they didn't give back, for whatever reason.

Apples and oranges, in this case. Mesos =/= NX. The NX was fully compensated in that case with Maple points.

A perfect Sparta expiring due to item lock IS an NX-related glitch becasue it happened due to the lock. They didn't fix it because they knew once the LOCK worked well future LOCKS would sell just fine. Nexonazis are not retards, they're just plain evil.

I didn't say it wasn't an NX-related glitch. What I mean by "purely" NX related item loss/glitch means no in game items that can be purchased with mesos.

For one reaosn or another, they're sensitive when it comes to replacing items or mesos in game and do so very rarely. The instances when they do, it's usually when it's a very widespread problem that effects a large number of people, rather than an unlucky select handful. (Speaking items of course, in case someone plans to bring up the guild hack thing.)

I'd suspect they have certain rules in place that they strictly abide to, even if it's their own game. Kinda like the whole "I know the password to cancel the self-destruct mechanism, but for safety reasons I was strictly instructed to never use it under any circumstance, despite the fact that I know it." scenario that plays out sometimes in parody movies/shows. Only very specific events allow bypassing of said rules. They probably had to bend rules a bit just to give back Harrison's overall (clean).

Now, is it stupid? Yes, it pretty much is, but we're not the ones in charge who made the rules.

That's my guess about what happened with the item expiration glitch anyway. Being restricted by strict rules they laid out early on to prevent GM interference with the game, they couldn't do anymore for compensation than what they did.

Now, on to what I was saying. They seem to be way more lenient on compensating NX itself (via Maplepoints). Probably because giving a player Maplepoints has much less potential to give that player an advantage than giving them mesos/items. They've compensated NX in the past before, and this most certainly seems like a time where they'd be doing this. Maybe replacing the dead pets after a server check or something, if they can.

Anyway, my main point is that NX is an entirely separate issue from in game material, in the eyes of Nexon. Sure, NX caused an in game item to vanish, but that doesn't change the fact that the in game item is still an in game item, separate from the realm of NX. If there's a name tag on the item, that's treated as NX spent on the item an compensated. If there's a lock on the item, that's treated as NX and compensated. The item itself? That's where you step out NX territory and into game territory.

Now, I don't support Nexon or anything, but I'm just trying to think of the situation more logically than "Nexon = schadenfreude"

has anyone tried talking to the pet revival NPC's yet?

They overcompensated by a whole lot with the +3 HTPs, even to those who tried to hide them.

They never fixed the problem either. They just removed having 5 slots on a HTP altogether.
