Phoenix Wrote:I think they've realized limited in quantity doesn't help sales, but limited TIME offers are their new thing.

I think you both forget that Nexon gets their money when NX is bought, not when it is spent.

So, now an AP reset sale is announced (or allowed to be leaked, if you will). Every hp-washer runs to the nearest store and buys hundreds of dollars' worth of Nexon Game Cards, intending to stock up on scores or hundreds of AP resets.
Then the sale comes, and he manages to get 1, or 2, or maybe even 10, before they run out. Doesn't matter to Nexon, his money is already in their pockets.

Now, what's going to happen? Either he will use his NX to buy AP resets at full price, or he will waste it on something else (a 2x here, a gachapon there). One may be certain he will not be able to save it until the next AP reset sale. Very few maplers can exercise that kind of restraint. So, before the next sale, he will again give nexon plenty of $$$...

Excellent cycle, from their point of view. Why break it by offering unlimited amounts of AP resets and actually letting people stock up on them?

This is True. Though I'm sure day long sales still benefit their revenue more than 5 minute long sales. People are tempted to charge and buy what is physically possible to use in 3 months.

I'm well aware of that. But with theses sales a lot more NX is removed from the system than with the short sales. So it is in Nexon's interest to have 12 hours of a Sale rather than just 500 of one item.

The problem with that, is that people don't charge much when they know that the quantity is limited.

EX1: AP resets go on sale on Friday, but only 1000 will be sold. I know I won't be fast enough to get tons, so I only charge $10

EX2: AP resets go on sale on Friday, and will be unlimited all day. I know that I won't have to worry about others buying them from under me, so I will be more than willing to charge $30+. Not only that, but if I buy those $30 worth and realize I still want MORE, I can quickly charge again, and buy more before the sale is over.

The best way to make money would've been to never have had that packaged sale in the first place so that people will think that there would never be a sale and would buy at full price. The money made over time from not having had the sale would be more than the money made during just the sale. Then have a sale right before going out of business.

MetaSeraphim Wrote:Due to one of the notices showing the 60% GM scrolls are coming back I would say it's them.

It never said 60% effects though, just 100% GM scrolls. Scrolls can look alike but have different effects. Guess I'll find out in a bit though.

They didn't add, change, or remove any scrolls.

Curious, did they fix the broken Knockback hitbox for Cursed Black Cat, Fiel? You can check that, right?

Apparently, from the threads in the general Maplestory section, the helms were changed to +12 instead.

I think we all saw Pink Bean being added to the cash shop. They do that stuff all the time. Though if you pay 25k NX for it you must be crazy... Oh but I guess it must be a bargain for those that bought the cash shop surprise.
