English Presentation
#1
Hey guys, I need to make a presentation for English class, and I'm completely out of ideas, so I thought maybe southperry will be able to think of something nice to present. Rules for the presentation go as following:
1.Speaking only
2.Should take about 5 mins to present
3.At the end of the presentation I need to ask the audience (containing 99% teenagers) questions, and try to spark a discussion (so the subject should be something somewhat interesting that the rest will understand)
4.Should not be over-complicated

Subjects I have thought about already:
Dreaming (or other sleep-related things)
The internet (advantages and disadvantages, etc)

If anyone has an idea for something I could present, you are more than welcomed to post it here.

How about Teenage Pregnancy and Abortion? Could spark an interest with the audience seeing as 99% of them will be teenagers. It could also help people with problems that they actually may have.

Biodiesel Fuels and why it's not a green alternative. One example has to do with soya plantations in Brazil.

My senior project was on the Internet, so I have a lot of images for that lying around, if you decide to go that route.

Possible, but there were already two presentations (out of 10) about the whole green energy\pollution\global warming thing so I think that would be kinda repeating itself. But it sounds like a good subject, indeed.

Uh, it's a speaking-only presentation, so I don't think I'll need images (unless I misinterpreted the word images)

That sounds nice, I'll think about it.

Actually my girlfriend had the exact same assignment, OP, and she did something related to this, except I think it had to do with the problems with the current system.

Perhaps look into that? It's pretty controversial.

Sir keep the interwebs out of your school assignment >_> It's entirely possible to do a presentation on legalism of prostitution (yeah not exactly the same thing CoB said). Think creatively =P

If your school won't allow it though then I guess it's immediately out the window =/

It used to, but modern ideologies such is liberalism and democracy allowed it.

We had a sex-related presentation before so it's not really "not allowed" but I'd rather use a more moderate subject. I think I'll go with Kajiti's subject about Biodiesel Fuels.

Re-enact this scene from American Psycho as a lead-in to the subjects of the death penalty, insanity defenses, or the musical stylings of Huey Lewis and the News.

Short but interesting, and will surely spark a debate.

Try to remember he said he's not in the usa. Isn't there still this whole debate about computer games making kids violent? Seems the most obvious thing to go with to me.
