Running off to dinner and a movie, just want to leave you with this... mind-bendingly moronic example of how not to rationally make a point.

"Without presenting the alternative".
"THE alternative".

Atheism, Islam, Judaism(?), Christianity, Zoroastrianism, Confucianism, Daoism, Buddhism....

There's a lot more than just Atheist and Christians. <_<

I love this woman.

Perhaps Evangelical was not the best choice of words. Was really running to dinner. I will say I support Darwin and all, just to get that out there. I will think of something better than the word Evangelical that expresses my contempt for this Kirk Cameron fellow and his methods.

I'm really mortified by the miserable structure of the arguments used. On the other hand, that's a brilliant method of subtle proselytizing. My roommate is smitten with the idea of handing out Jefferson bibles on the same day.

Also a bit peeved at the Hitler reference. Why must the internet insist on making a Hitler connection in order to have an argument winning point?

you can only win an argument by using correct logic. Introducing hitler is an automatic loss of the argument.

The alternative to evolution, ie God did it.

@ Isaac I don't really agree with that. There are plenty of ways to refer to Hitler without losing an argument. He did a lot of things, for a lot of reasons, I do agree that saying "because Hitler did x, x is bad" is a terrible argument. But it isn't a "loss".

I believe you are familiar with this Issac.

Wrong.

Your logic doesn't need to be correct; it only needs to be closer to correct than the other person's.

I don't see the problem with evolution and Christianity. Why can't evolution be done by God, my dear Christians? Because we can predict it?

Because its supported by fact and never mentioned in the bible so hell it must not exist, its the one-two punch!

as per predicting there are things pertaining to evolution that can't be predicted, such as a random mutation that benefits the species and thus becomes the dominate gene... yeah we can predict it becomming dominant but not neccessarily when or how the mutation will happen
