Dumb Maker question.

Was it ever confirmed that stim+black/dark crystal always keeps your equips from being below average?
I realize this was most likely BS but I figured I'd ask before I made something endgame and found out later I could have taken the time to make it better I suppose.

Stimulator was supposed to make your item at least average but I read somewhere that that was proven wrong. So I don't know. I'd still use it and hope to get lucky and have it be above.

Black/Dark Crystals are pretty much Chaos Scrolls of Maker so people were probably led to believe they keep equips from being below by negating whatever a Stimulator did.

I'd still use both. Best case scenario would be that Stimulator did its job and made your item above, then Black/Dark Crystal added the right stats.
It's just that the opposite can happen. Oh, and the 10% rate of the Stimulator exploding your item.

I only have one personal example of using a dark crystal and stimulator together, and I can say with confidence, negatives are possible. I used advance dex, advance str, and advance dark on an overall and the stats turned out the following as compared to average.

+1 Dex
+1 Str
+1 Avoid
+2 Phys Def

Now, while that all appears positive, the dark crystal still took out most of what the other crystals added.

Dark/Black Crystals are all about luck, much like chaos scrolls. As for stimulators, they are generally recommended where possible assuming you can afford to risk the minute chance to break it; but are by no means guarantees of stabilizing the dark crystal.

EDIT: Looking back, you know what? I lied. Turns out I didn't use a stim for that overall. ... Um, my theory still stands?
