What I never understood in that series is why Doc Brown and Marty don't just use heavy violence on Biff, Griff, and Mad Dog Tannen. They don't want to change the future, so they cannot "kill" these guys. But all the Biffs are willing to do anything to get what they want, including committing murder, so why not use a tazer, or blow off his kneecap with a gun? As shown in the third movie, the Doc can make excellent weapons out of nothing. I might add that after 1984 in the movie, they are not "changing the future" by doing something to Biff because it is THEIR time... I think killing him would have solved a lot of problems. It's really idiotic how Marty comes home after the three movies, knowing that Biff wants to murder his father and force his mother into an abusive marriage... and Marty calmly lets him work on his parents' car and such. I'd at least want him as far away from the family as possible.
