Boss Speech

Describe the problem. Be as specific as possible!: After Fighting a few Deos' I noticed that when he spoke, the word were all x's. not sure if this is the case with all bosses so far

This is in KMS, too. I am not sure why (maybe you need a quest active or something), but it has been this way so long that I think it is intentional.

Boss Mob Talk

All boss monsters in MapleStory now have dialog. Go back and defeat your old favorites to hear what they have to say, but be aware, some bosses only talk when the circumstance is right. You may need to complete a relevant quest, or have a particular pet equipped to hear what some bosses have to say.

Timer does the same.

You're supposed to have the quest for Deo active to hear these, whatever quest 3952 is.

The two messages that are on your screen were supposed to be "Oy Vey..." for knocking it back and "You don't know how to respect your elders..." for actually killing it.

Deo's speech is clear for me (he says something like "You do not know how to respect your elders"), but Timer's isn't.

What about the actual speech bubbles? Are they "xxxx" as well?

They usually are that way, or rather they were for me in KMS.

I haven't noticed any of those bosses speaking in X's so it definitely is the quest thing, but you'd think that the monster would just... you know... not talk instead of showing X's, but hey, it's nexon.

Yeah, I killed a couple Dyles (got 3 coins.. yay) and the chat bubble is all xxxx's too.
