Maple Story installation.
#1
Was installing MS just to see what changed, who was still on and the etc.

Well anyways, I had about 1.2gigs of space left in my computer. I ran the exe and got a message saying I didn't have enough space.

I checked the space left and I had about 600mbs of space that wasn't being used. Strange I thought, since I had 1.2 gigs before.

So I deleted some more stuff, moved the installer over to a seperate PC and ran it again.

I checked my space and I had about 1.7 gigs to spare. I ran the installer again.
And then I got another message saying not enough space. Again the amount left was about 600 mbs.

So I cancelled the installation, and now I'm sitting at about 600 mbs of space left.

What happened to the other 600 mbs from the first time, and what happened to the 1.1gigs from the second time?

Assuming Global?

The files are in your /temp directory somewhere, they should disappear when you restart or delete everything in the Temp folder. You could try installing the iTCG version and then letting it Autopatch, you might have just enough space to get it up to current. Or installing the iTCG and then running the Manual from a CD. With under 2GB free it'll be tough.

ed~ v076 is 1283 MB, v038 + 038to076 patch = 1262 MB

It is, according to my Add/Remove Programs, 1.421GB.

Edit: And according to my MapleStory folder, it's 1.39 GB (1,498,824,507 bytes).

I believe you can't fully utilize your hardware space. I don't remember correctly nor do I know an explanation but that seemed to have been the case for me many times ago.

Nexon America's .msi (yes that's Microsoft Installer) install package totally sux:

- You have to download it (1.2Gb)
- The installer extracts itself (1.4Gb)
- The extracted files are copied (1.4Gb)

Resulting in a total space of 3.8Gb (4Gb should do fine) to install maple without problems...

Yeah Nexon and Microsoft together... Epic... Heart

Cleared up some space, got to 2 gigs of space left (ya my comp is old), and then it stops at 1 gig, and says there's no room for installation.

Commmmeee onnn. Sad

wow just checked my temp folder, there's stuff there from way back that didn't get deleted. x.X

freed up another 1.2 gigs, let's see if it works now.

Have this exact problem, why is installation so difficult. Sad

In fact, I have 3.7 gigs available and it's telling me that I need 2 gigs more. Wth?

Then copy the MapleStory folder back to your comp via a USB or LAN Network.

hope i don't get a warning for this. :X

I have a computer with 5 gigs left, but the stupid installation copies the MS folder TWICE into my temp file, then tells me it requires 3.8 GIGS MORE.

WTH.

Must be Nexon America's epic fail version of a CRC Check!!! Glitter Glitter Glitter

Hmz, well only thing I can advise is:
- Install it SOMEWHERE on a RANDOM pc with enough HD space (10GB free should do fine :o)
- After instalation copy the Maplestory folder on a USB stick
- Copy the USB stick Maple folder on the PC where you want to play Maple from
