Culture would be boring if it weren't for innovations in speech.

yes, all that is true, but the same can be said that some fat fuck said some bullshit while playing a video game. an addition to the english language, this more definitely is not, and i will shoot myself if it is. screw trying to be a writer if some fat ass-hat can scream "WOMBO-COMBO" and instantly make up a new word. no.

Do you really need to bash so hard on how they use this word? After this video (hell, even before the video the word was already talked about), a majority of the smash community knows what it is. It may not be a part of YOUR "dictionary" but it's a part of the smash community. Who cares if gamers make up their own words for the game THEY play?

No, bro. You never practiced it enough then, it does involve skills to maintain a near frame-perfect Waveshine. `-`;

@EarthAdept: I have to agree with you on this. Gamers can make up a word for a game they play. MapleStory is technically the same way ; ex: "ccplz". That's technically not a word. Words like 'gg' started a long while back and eventually became a rather popular chat-lingo to use during MMOs or competitive online gaming as well.

As for Smash, there are a lot of terms and lingos there as well. A 'dair' is an abbreviation of "Down-Air", people irl I know just call it literally as it is abbreviated, a DAIR! Just yesterday, actually, I was watching two of my friends played competitive Smash, Luigi v. Mario. May have seem boring to some people, but it wasn't as repetitive as Fox v. Falco or Fox v. Fox, though Fox + Falco does take some time to play with..

NO, BRO. WHAT YOU ARE SUGGESTING I PRACTICE IS A GLITCH. I ASSUME A "WAVESHINE" IS JUST A WAVE DASH INTO A DOWN+B WITH FOX? RIGHT? WELL LOOK AT THAT. YOU HAVE TO WAVE DASH, WHICH IS ABUSING THE GAME'S PHYSICS TO PULL IT OFF. HAHAHAHA. YOU ARE ALL FROWNED UPON BY SAKURAAAAAAI.

Fixed. And it's not abusing the game's physics. You have to actually practice at it, not like I'm using LOLGAMESHARKZZZZZ to pull it off, hater. ):

Genesis was during the summer (largest smash tourney in history). All the players shown in the vid still play melee aside from m2k who switches (usually brawl for the money though). A lot of the old smashers are coming back to melee from brawl as well. Azen and chillin recently attended a melee tourney a week ago. DBR is there now as well etc etc (this is your old favorite zelgadis included). I really think brawl scene is dying down and all the veterans are coming back to melee.

Wavedash had it's own name in debug mode (land special I believe). Whether you think it's still a glitch is really up to you. People can play without it anyway, (masashi in like 06). Although it definitely offers up more approaching options unlike in brawl+.

The fox's I see now I don't waveshine as much. They simply make use of the quick shffls (watch cactuar to see what I mean). Falco on the other hand uses it immensely for the offensive pressure and pillaring. Depending on the match up, some games can be real boring like peach vs link where camping is an easy strategy to win.
