Just thought I would say that.

That notice is big and annoying.

Its is big and annoying. Its sorta in the way. but, I guess thats the point.

It wouldn't be so annoying if the notice went up the day before the update.
Nah it's k let's up it up a full 6 days beforehand.

The fact that a huge annoying notice is needed to notify people of just 2 hours downtime that isn't for another 6 days is beyond me o_o

Yes, a lot of people often don't read this if I actually put it in a thread, this way I know everyone knows about it, and there are no surprises when I actually do it. I'll see if I can't consolidate that a bit though, that does seem a bit large now that I look at it again. You could make it collapsable, like the forums on the main page.
I dunno how much effort that takes though. Presumably there'd be some sort of template.

I see, well you could always just link everyone to the thread with a really short notice. I mean, it's on every single page, I doubt people are going to miss it. On Friday, you can make it big again to make sure no one has missed the message.

A button for future stuff like that saying "OK, I now know this, there's no need for this to still show up" would be perfect.

There is an option I just toggled for that notice that'll make it non-persistent - that is, it'll show up once when you initially visit the forum then it'll disappear until you visit again, it shows up once per browser session.

'Course, I'd have to clear my browser to view it again.
May you post it into the Site Announcements, or something? I already forgot the times. |
