Yes, a lot of people often don't read this if I actually put it in a thread, this way I know everyone knows about it, and there are no surprises when I actually do it.

I'll see if I can't consolidate that a bit though, that does seem a bit large now that I look at it again.

Read the stickies I put up more often and I won't be forced to use notices.
The main thing is since this is going to be during the day, when there are more people online, this does warrant a notice.

I wasn't saying that everyone ignores them, I know some people read them. But in cases like this I need *everyone* to know about this.

I see, well you could always just link everyone to the thread with a really short notice. I mean, it's on every single page, I doubt people are going to miss it. On Friday, you can make it big again to make sure no one has missed the message.

I'd probably have to toy around with the template a bit, yes.

A button for future stuff like that saying "OK, I now know this, there's no need for this to still show up" would be perfect.

Actually I had a better idea. There is an option I just toggled for that notice that'll make it non-persistent - that is, it'll show up once when you initially visit the forum then it'll disappear until you visit again, it shows up once per browser session.

'Course, I'd have to clear my browser to view it again.
