Today I've read that Bing's market share have grown by 0.4% in the past month while google's dipped.
I was curious about why such a crappy search engine as Bing could be taking up google's market share.
So I started to experiment with Bing, I tried searching some stuff with Google and compare them to Bing. As I expected, google's search results are much more relevant.
I then tried the image search, Bing's image results is not much different from Google's, but there's an option for showing similar image in Bing. However the similar image option doesn't really return "similar images". For example if I search Tower, and scroll down to find a picture of CN tower, press "show similar images" Eiffel tower and all other towers are still all over the place.
I've find nothing in Bing that surpasses Google, so just as I was about to close Bing, I had a naughty thought, and typed in the word inside the Bing image search. It didn't show any result and suggested me to turn off Safesearch which is enabled by default. After turning it off, all the images came out. All the images that google doesn't have. I now understand why Bing is gaining market share, and maybe I shall use Bing too when working on special assignments
