Just curious how everyone does on these.

My best were...
790 Math
640 Reading
650 Writing
So, 2080 combined. I probably should have taken it more than twice last year.

I should've taken it more than once, I probably could've done better Sad
Only reason I took it in the first place (knowing I wanted to go in the military) was to verify my PSAT score for Nat Merit (I was a semi-finalist, my chem grade kept me from advancing).

And 1430 is nice, pretty high

It got my into Georgia Tech, so I guess I'm happy about it. The 790 pissed me off though. I swears I got all the math questions right =\ Took it a second time with the sole desire to get an 800 and got an 770.

I think I missed 2-3 for each section, which is frustrating but acceptable to me.

800 math + 6xx CR + 6xx writing = 2090 total. That was almost five years ago and going by my PSAT score last October, I'm apparently not much better.
(I'm also a believer that standardized tests only measure how well you do on standardized tests, though I don't know if that discussion belongs here.)

I took a pSAT and got the equivalent of 780 math 750 reading 600 writing. God I suck at that last one.

I agree, somewhat - multiple choice in particular can measure your ability to logically deduce an answer. No worse than most classes in school measuring memorization/spitback ability though. Also, if you score that nicely on the SAT, grats Reavs, that's a 1530, which is pretty impressive.

Thanks Bread.I also agree with the whole "SAT doesn't determine how smart you are" just like IQ tests. But they did teach me that I apparently suck at vocabulary. Goggleemoticon

I've taken something similar to this, but I don't remember my grading. : \

I think I was in the top ten of my school, though.

800 Math
800 "Critical Reading"
570 Writing

I agree with Russt - I got the scores I did completely by using logic and possessing a good vocabulary.

I know right? pineapple writing. I had the worst prompt ever. I don't remember what it was, I just remember writing complete BS. Something about patriotism or something.

710 CR/800 M/760 W
Total: 2270/2400
I had no trouble with any of the non-vocab critical reading questions, but I got 6 vocab wrong Tongue
I didn't bother studying it.
(This was the second time I took it. First time I got a 6 on my essay and had the same math and CR, but a 650 or 660 on W)

For Subject, 800 Math iic, 780 Physics

I really despise the SAT. I can see why the Subject tests might be important - they actually test your knowledge.
The actual SAT is superficial garbage. The Math section is all about not making stupid mistakes and reading carefully - it tests 7-8th grade math.
The essay is just about as useless - you have to forget everything you were ever taught and do it 'their way'. I thought my essay was bullpomegranate, and one of the worst I've ever written - but it was five paragraphs. It got a 10 >_>
