Out of sheer curiosity, I just watched the videos of both of them. Kanye is officially a nutter in my eyes. Beyonce's video did nothing more than shake an unnecessary amount of ass and leave the question "do those really count as pants?".

Making offensive jokes out of the blue =/= hating on an entire race because one person is a doofus.
Granted, I went to the worst possible place with those jokes but it was still obvious sarcasm.

She/he/it is REALLY trying to hard to be different. I swear i havnt seen anything this ridiculous since that stupid swan dress someone wore, but that actually didnt even look as bad as this freak in a dress in a....hat?
Kanye = Douche no if ands or buts about it. Going up on stage and TAKING A MIC from someone who just won an award, whos moment it was to shine for a few seconds (though she did perform the song she won with i guess) is so beyond douchebaggery, that he outta be pimp slapped in hell for eternity. I mean wtp!?! he couldnt do what every other 2 bit celebirty was going to do? And actually twitter their thoughts right there, or blog about it after, or possibly DURING the show?
Kanye is a douche, a self loving douche

Kayne was just making an elaborate joke on how thinks-
That the VMAs are just terrible reflections of how our societal values are corrupted by our socio-economic and ethnocentric views that are reinforced by American media outlets due to our Capitalistic nature that...

If it reflects badly on any single group of people I'd say it's the people who keep thinking it's okay to put him on live television (probably not going to happen again)
Is Kanye West representative of all blacks? No. Is Kanye West representative of "black culture?" Yes, he is, and all those other piece-of-$hit rappers are too, whether they be "talented" ones like Snoop Dogg, or "not talented" ones like Lil Jon. Consider for a second why the fuuck there is a thriving market for "music" whose content is almost universally about being aggressive, rude, streetsmart, sex with 100 different women, having a lot of money without working for it, and additional "content" such as shooting police officers. There is a market for this crap because the rappers represent people from that market. Black people who actually do respectable work for a living probably don't listen to stuff like that, but then, those people are "oreos" and aren't part of "black culture" anyway. To "black culture," what Kanye West did here is "cool" and "badass," because they would have done the same. My guess is he did it as a publicity stunt for the shock and controversy value, and his record sales will increase becasue of it.
