Event equips in gacha

This is a discussion and not what is going to happen but it might some day
I was wondering what you guys think about event only equips going into gacha...

stipulations:
Each event has to be over and not foreseeable as returning (ie lunchbox event)
all expiring equips from event have expirations/untradeable[no karmas] in gacha (no perma pink tube claws)


What I see this being is more of a aww i missed that event, oh wait I can gacha for a chance to get the rewards. I hate the whole NX whores get better stuff ie gacha but thats not the discussion. I'm all for it as long as its a lower chance to get the items and that they stick to the original stats of the item (expiring stuff expires and stats aren't randomized).

Also do you think people would gacha more knowing that if they do they may get a chance at like a lunchbox or perma agent shoes or a toymaker's hammer?

I will rage if they put untradeable, expiring items like pink tubes there.
I missed one day of the lunchbox event last time (due to no fault of my own), but I really think this is a terrible idea. Most of these event items are only good to SOME classes and the majority of them are untradeable. Not only would this completely undermine the idea that event items come once and the fact that you have to do stuff for them (lunchbox, agent shoes), this would be bad in another two ways.
Although some people would gach for specific items, others would have their gachapon hampered with 'seemingly' useless items.

tl;dr No

Event items should be justy that, event items. For the veterans or the dedicated players that keep track and plan ahead of events like the lunchbox one. What fun would the original anniversary bandanas, or the mark of Beta be, if you could just gach them? Terrible idea.
It's not some god given right every mapler has, to get every single cool or good item served on a silverplate.
Also, buthurt over that dam piece of fugly lunchbox is, imo, childish. I promise, you can still hit lvl 200 without it, and your zakum solo time will not differ by a year if you use a timeless executioners instead.

If they fill gatcha with a bunch of crap you can't use and can't get rid of then gatcha becomes pointless.

Now if they would make gatcha more intelligent so you didn't get crap you can't use but only crap you can use then it becomes slightly more useful. (When I gatch with my mage I get useless gelts, when I gatch with my NL I get useless banana gram pies, if I get a really good non-karma-able untradable spear for my mage & my NL I'm gonna be pissed and never gatch again.) So when it gives atk only give the item to classes that use atk, if it is an untradable weapon / equip then only give it to the class that can use it. Then it would be ok and I wouldn't care.

Yeah, what makes event items special is that not everybody can have them. I don't want nexon changing that just to try to make a buck.

Every sugestion of making the lunchbox to come back is a big NO from me. Yes i can be called selfish or whatever, but at the time the lunchbox event was out, we all knew what it was, when it was coming and what to do to get it, all thaks to the extractions. Every single mapler had the chance to get it. At that time i was semi-active and i still logged in every day 1 min a day to get it.

And now i have to hear ppl saying that it should come back because at the time the event was out they had "quit" their characters and deserves another chance to get it?

Sorry but no, i prefer the lunchbox to keep being rare and godly for a few rather than seeing every single paly and hero running with them, making all other weapon choise even more obsolete.

I never meant this to be all about lunchboxes, hell i have mine and never would gacha, it was only an example because everyone seems butthurt over them.

And when i said untradeable/unkarma-able i meant that if the original equip was like that then do it again.

Furthermore, what if there were seperate gachas (a second one) in each of the main towns of vic that gave out the event items, and only bowman/common stuff came out of the one in henesey's, only mage and common from ellinia, etc.

That way you'd only get stuff you could use and if you got stuff like the tradeable agent earrings you could trade them away just like the originals

Put Lunchboxes at Perion.
Etc. for all other class specific items.

Nah. Event items shouldn't be gachapon. Definatly not lunchboxes, those were meant to be one of a kind to a player, you get one chance to scroll and that was the entire factor keeping it reasonable for being better in theory than other 1h swords.


Certain event items are fairer though, such as chairs or potions [like the christmas transformation potions]

This just ruined my hopes of them giving out those chairs again this Christmas.
