Sigh...

So I went to my dermatologist yesterday after managing to get a date and time finally finalized. I'm currently in remission in acne, but I wanted to get some stuff to make sure it never showed on my face again. So he looked at my face and ears and neck and BAM, he found exactly what I was afraid of. A subcutaneous cist in my right earlobe. I knew that lump was a cist but no one believed me. He said they're not really problems unless they're inflamed, soft, and cause you lots of pain. Which it is actually. Then he said they could become cancerous. CANCEROUS. So yeah, if the meds don't shrink it, I'll have to have it surgically cut out of my ear. Tongue Until then, I'll be sleepless as I can't sleep on my right side because the pain is so bad. I'm a side sleeper. I can't sleep on my back or on one side continuously. So yeah, I got zero sleep last night and went to school. And I still have to go to school sleepless. With a cist that could become cancerous.

Oh wow. T.T
How long do you have to take the medication before they decide that you need to get it surgically removed? And I hope the cyst will be gone long before it can even become cancerous.
Even sleeping pills won't help knock you out? Or painkillers to help (at least) lessen the pain?
Best wishes with all that. >.<

The worst thing is that there's no way to prevent them. They can just pop up out of nowhere. Like mine.

fistula was the term for what i had... and it was in a place where, i swear to god, no man wants another man to be doing any form of surgery, which i had to have to have it removed... like...
i dont even like to speak of it to this day. its just... no. no. No! my GOD, WHY ME?!

I know how you feel. See, my family has this little odd thing where one generation will be born with moles ALL over their body, and the other will be completely mole-free or only with a few moles. My grandmother had tons of moles, my mum had them, and I was born with them too. All over. Which, as you know, is pretty highly dangerous as any one of them could easily become cancerous.

My mum has had to have a few cut off, as the doctors said they were showing early signs of cancer. And it frightens me, because I know the small early signs and details, and a few of my moles have them too. (Hell, the one behind my ear is even a bit scabby and it started bleeding a few weeks ago, but when I told my mum, she said not to worry because we had it checked a long time ago...)

It doesn't help even more that my grandmother also died of cancer, and my uncle--my mum's brother who also got the moles generation--had cancer develop on his face, so they had to cut it out and around his cheek area and replace it with skin from his leg. Ehhh...
