Maker'd Shoe Upgrades?

Here's the shoes I was going to make (notice 5 upgrades available):

Above average stats, but only 3 upgrades?!! I thought that only stats were affected if you make your own equips, so does this mean that your amount of upgrades are affected as well? I'm not really that bummed since I was only planning on scrolling them for speed, but it's still crazy to me that the upgrades were affected :f6:

waitwaitwait......In the first SS, it appears that you don't have enough powders to make the sandals. So you either had those shoes already (scrolled twice, both failing) and are pulling our legs or you (for some reason) had dropped the powders before taking that SS, then looted them and maker'd the shoes.

he brought up a good point; how can one justifiably prove that she did in fact make those shoes with only 3 slots? his point that those shoes were just ones that she already had does still stand. where is the proof that she made them?

Wait, what? LOL. Yeah, like Dyxanije said, I already made the shoes before taking the screen shots. That's why it shows that I only have 4 powders left. No, I didn't scroll anything. In fact, that's how I noticed I only had 3 slots. I was on my way to get 5 100% scrolls for shoes for speed from the ludi tower, double checked to see exactly how much scrolls I needed, saw 3 upgrades, then thought "hey wait a minute, I could have sworn my other shoes had 5 upgrades", double checked the maker skill to make sure those specific shoes weren't weird and had only 3 upgrades, then realized I was ripped off 2 slots

True, I have no justifiable proof, but seriously, I have no reason to post things for pomegranates and giggles. My boyfriend was right next to me and witnessed the whole thing (not that it makes any difference). I'm honest to god wondering what the heck happened to my 2 slots and I wanted to make others aware that things like this could happen if you use the maker.

I didn't throw anything on it. It's a waste of crystals to put on temp shoes lol.

I guess what happens next is that we sit back and hear other reports surface (if any) about this phenomenon. Sorta hard to take it for what it's worth if only one person has this kind of claim.

True. It could have been some fluke glitch that my shoes got maker'd all weird. I should attempt to make another pair of yellow ones and a pair of a diff color just to see if it's just those shoes :f6:

Nope, no stimulator either.

Blehh, just attempted to make two more shoes. Another pair of yellow ones and a brown one. BOTH came out with 5 upgrades. I guess my first pair was just some weird fluke :f6:

??? No it isn't. Screenshot of it taking away the items required to make the shoe, followed by no mention of scrolls failing.

On one hand, why would someone do this for laughs and giggles? It seems a pointless thing to post. This reminds me of the thread a while ago about maker'd items having negative stats. Like, I really dont see why someone would lie about this, but this brings it to the other side:

You'd think that with maker out for almost a month now, SOMEONE ELSE would've had this happen to them. I mean... just looking on SouthPerry, thousands of items have been maker'd, and NONE of them have ever ended up with missing slots. IF this was indeed true, then the chances are 0.00001% or even something ridiculously lower. It just seems VERY unlikely.

As much as I would like to believe you, something just doesnt feel right, no offense. To my knowledge, upgrade slots dont go missing like that. I mean, alternatively, if it could "lose" 2 slots, it could also "gain" 2 slots, no?

On yet another angle, at the people asking for proof, the surprise would be if it DID exist. This is an unprecedented event (as far as we know, this is the first time it's happened), its not like people frap everything they maker going "hey, maybe this time, my item will turn out with 2 fewer upgrade slots! lets screenshot everything JUST in case!". Yes, some people document EVERYTHING they do, but most dont...the thread starter had no way of knowing this would happen, so why would they think about taking screenshots beforehand? The best she could provide is a screenshot of the maker picture after and the maker'd shoe. Yes, there's plenty of room for bsing, but she's trying her best to prove her point here, give her a break.

It could be a conflict with the vicious hammer. Sure thousands of people have maker'd items but how many have been made since vicious hammer was released? How many people have made this particular item?

I am terribly cynical but I doubt she's lying about this.

I do completely understand where people are coming from wanting proof. It is very unlikely that it would happen, and thank god it did on crap shoes rather than something that requires a lot, like an end game equip (cuz if it did I'd be pissed off). There are so many people on the internet that say things just for pomegranates and giggles, so I don't blame people for wanting proof. The fact is, I didn't realize it until way later, so I wouldn't have any proof other than the screen shots I have already shown you. I am one of those people who don't SS everything unless weird things like this happens. I did attempt to make two more shoes to see if the shoe itself was glitched when maker'd, but they both came out with 5 upgrades, so that didn't work out so well for me

I wouldn't be surprised if people have had this happen to them, but didn't notice because it was on an equip they weren't going to scroll (therefore they didn't care) or just didn't know how many upgrades the item should have. Also, it could have happened to someone who doesn't post anything on the internet, so it wouldn't have been shared with the rest of us. However, it happened to me, and I post on this forum, so I thought I'd share my experience with you all. You guys can take it however you want to. All I really wanted to do is post it as an FYI for everyone.

Did you do it during the boat ride?
Were you scrolling something else just before using maker?
Just log on? Chatting a lot? Laggy? Whatever?

No, not that I can think of? I was on land when I made them, I was in FM because I had to borrow a bunch of basic crystal 3's from my friend and get yellow powders off my maker skill mule . I was just bored on the boat and decided to recheck my newly maker'd shoes to see how much 100% speed scrolls I needed because I forgot if shoes had 5 or 7 slots, that's why the SS is on ludi boat. I wasn't scrolling anything right before either. I was on for sometime before I made them. I was chatting, but not while the item was in process of being made. I try not to do things simultaneously while using the maker. Not laggy. So there wasn't any unusual situation. It was probably some freakish maker'd happening :f6:

Hate to be picky, but technically all of them in GMS, considering Maker and Vicious' Hammer were released in the same patch.

I've made 3 pairs of this same shoe myself. Just sold one last night, but I'm sure that at least one has 5 slots, because I failed a 60% shoe speed and it has 4 slots now.
