"Maplestory-event" scam

What was the problem?
This:
Smega'd at least once per hour in Broa for the last week or so.

The site would have a fake login page which would pretend to be an official Nexon login. I am gussing that whenever they tricked someone who had NX on their account, they would spend it on smegas to advertise their phishing link.


First of all, any servers besides Broa have this problem?

I guess he reported a scamming site, keylogger giving site or whatever that ended in ".tk" to the ".tk" people and they removed it.

Not that great of an achievement since they'll just create another one like the mules they use to spam on FM

Once per hour!? Hahahaha! Are you ever lucky to see that only once per hour.

Here in Scandalia, every few seconds that an Smega goes off, there is about a 30 - 55% chance that it is that lame scamming site, and by different people too! Given the large population of Scandalia, many people fall for that trick and so there are new names each time the scam site gets advertised through Smega.

Honestly, even if an Smega blocker were to come out as a Cash Shop item, and even if it is overpriced, I'd buy it regardless. Smegas were nothing but tools to rape money from customers, and in this case, scam others as well. Obviously Nexon will not allow us to block it as long as they continue to rape money away from their customers.

I've seen it but I knew it was fake.
After all, Nexon did warn us about fake sites...

I had a smega war with one of them and the dude threatened to packet edit hack my account. So I laughed and dared him to hurry up. Also they changed the website report it again please, thank you <3.

GM's are getting smega money why would they do anything.

The Gm's actually did something about this, in the past when this was happening a blue notice appears warning maplers to not go on the fake sites after the smega.

Dont the sites get shut down too? So that proves something is being done

i've personally seen the output file for 2 of these sites (one that duped the nexon login another for the "event") and TONS of people are falling for it...

I reported a .tk website yesterday, actually. I probably won't hear from dot tk till Tuesday due to the "one business day" thing.

Reported him to Ripway hosting earlier, looks like the site's been deleted. Yay?
