TaiwanMS defeats pink bean legally

I think it's a great accomplishment that someone took down PB without the use of illegal....whatevers. They extended the timer, so what? Nexon realized (although I don't know why they didn't see it from the beginning) that the time limit was way to low, and the idea defeating PB was just a joke. What if they put a timer on zak for half an hour, since most people can beat it in that time? Say goodbye to zakum solos. Or if the HT time limit was shortened to two hours? Nexon is just trying to make the game more reasonable so that people can actually enjoy PB rather then never attempt it seriously.

The POINT of Pink Bean is for it to be a nearly IMPOSSIBLE boss to defeat. Extending it to 12 hours makes it no different than any other boss, so what's the point of Pink Bean without the challenge? Let me try putting this into an analogy for you :

Say you're a martial artist and you had to break a cinder block to graduate to the next belt rank. You try every day to break that cinder block brick in front of you, but you constantly fail. You then see someone have to punch water to pass to the same rank you're trying for. Is that an accomplishment? I wouldn't say so.

The point is, Gamania pretty much gave the victory to the players who went against Pink Bean by extending the time limit.

Although in this analogy it would be like punching through 10 cinder blocks. While I agree that 12 hours is a little long, it seems pretty impossible to beat PB in an hour. If the timer was maybe three hours, then yes that would be fair, but one?

Bachilion years training to lvl 200, x year/time getting godly stuff, hundreds on training/converting to mesos/items/ HP watching and 5 hours pressing a key.

90% of the guys on the run gets shiet, 10% gets a potion that can be bought on your local market.

This guys should rage. Damn, at least give everyone there a return scroll so they can at least save 100 mesos and get back to town.

I see the challenge, but I fail to see the reward. Or the fun on the challenge for at least 80% of the party that can barely take a glimpse of the Epic Monster they are supposed to be fighting.

for us the main problem is time (and hp for the lol ranged).

i say giving 1 hour for PB is fair if its 1 hour after all the statues. still i wouldnt call it an unfair kill. they killed it without hacks and the way it was intended by their version of the game. i mean they could claim that everything we do is not legal since we have npc cheap % pots, apples, non breaking chaos scrolls, facestompers, hammers, MoNs and so much more than others have not seen yet.

i do give them props for their effort and i hope we can learn from them and defeat the pink blob.

Didn't Windia/Scania get to 6th form with about 16 minutes left? 16 mins is plenty of time to wipe out 2.1 billion.
If they had 20 mins left, it would be very possible.

Actually i'm more pissed at pink bean not doing mass sed, genesis attack and big bang attack more than the 12 hours timer.

Did Gamania also took out those attack so they could kill it? pb only does 1/1 attacks for like 3 hours...

I was enjoying the music more than the video itself.

Winners compare their achievements with their goals, while losers compare their achievements with those of other people.
For some people, sitting for 5 hours attacking pixels is hard enough. For some people, its a great achievement for finaly killing the Pink Bean, whether it defeats the point of the very short time limit - or not.
Honestly, I don't think any server could kill Pink Bean legitly within 1 hour, yet.

ChinaMS is run by Shanda, not Gamania.

TaiwanMS and HKMS are run by Gamania.

Then again, Gamania > Shanda. Shanda does not know how to control its own servers infested with desperate hackers.

With the half damage, DR, ducking, and what have you, pink bean is actually about half of the whole fight, maybe even more.

It is not like pink bean is gonna stand still and watch every body attack until its dead. Fighting the 5 statues is slightly easier than fighting pink bean itself.

Right now every one is fighting pink bean just for the tittle of being the first ones to beat it (Even after these guys, they will keep fighting it to be the first ones to beat it in 1 hour) but after that, I seriously doubt people is gonna keep trying to kill it considering the poor rewards.

Even if GMS can beat it all in 1 hour (which i absolutely dont believe) what's the point if no other server is even getting close to that? we have a lot of stuff many other servers dont have and that gives us a big advantages (Like cheap apples), and even then, there's only 2 teams (one in windia and one ins scania) trying to take it down.

Pink Bean needs to be nerfed. By either adding more time or reducing it's hp. Remember it is not the last boss in the game, we still have to face the Dark Magician.

Wow, lots of bashing and hate on this thread. When did Southperry get so flametastic? Seriously guys, how hard is it to just say congratulations, even if they had a handicap we don't? They still did SOMETHING that's not easy. It's not like Pink Been itself was nerfed; still a difficult boss to survive, no matter how many Wheel of Destinies you use.

By the way, for those of you who "lol'd" the work and effort people put into this game both financially and time-wise to do something like this, I find you extremely hypocritical. If you already outlined the end point of this game, why would you yourself keep playing if you don't find it fun? Better yet if you have quit, why keep coming to these forums? If the game itself is a no-fun piece of crap to you, and the forums are a place to discuss the GAME (mostly), then why bother coming here? Just get the contact information you need for your good friends and talk to them through other means, or just post in the non-MapleStory sections of this forum. But understand that when you start laughing at the efforts of others for something that's "not fun" while you still play, it doesn't really look anything more than an excuse.

Not to mention MMORPG's thrive on new content, so just because this exists as it does doesn't mean another different, more difficult challenge cannot manifest in months to come. Have patience, work on your characters to your best ability if they bring you joy, and quit if you don't see the fun anymore. It's simple.

the 12 hour time limit is BS, but i leave here my gratz to them cause i am sure that was a great effort of all runners, hope GMS can beat PB soon, and without those 12 hours limit lol, (hope PB drop equips here unstead just pots too...)

Also.. think about this, guys. The Pink Bean was summoned by Kirsten for a mistake. He wanted to revive the Black Magician, but, instead, he revived this creature.

Now, if this "creature", coming from we-don't-know-which world, is so powerful, how powerful will the Black Magician be?

And, expecially, how will the battle against him be? We can't know..

Well.. the defeat of the Black Magician would be like.. the end of Maple's Story. NEXON would have to come up with something new, else our characters would be trained for no purpose, if not learning new skills and improving the damage.

I like how NEXON gave a sense to our training with the Black Magician.. but.. what will happen when it will be defeated? And, expecially, how will the battle against him be? If Cygnus can only get to level 120, and their sole purpose is to fight against the Black Magician when he'll return, how will they take his damage (which I expect to be REALLY high, even higher than the Pink Bean's) without dying?

Well.. NEXON might really never release the Black Magician.. it could be just a guy which gives a sense to the game, but will never be released. That'd be.. sad. But oh well.. we can't know.

Nexon's too greedy and lazy to make a Black Magician. The story will never end, and nor will the game.
