Maker Quest Problem

I've just recently decided to get my maker skill, I've done Moren's first round of teaching and all the orders for lvl 1 maker skills.
Now I'm stuck, I've done Moren's second round of teaching 5 or 7 times now and the quest won't clear, he keeps telling me the crystal isn't good enough.
The question is do I just keep repeating it? Or is there something wrong?

Just keep repeating it, it has a % chance of failing, you're just unlucky.
