I think it's just a generic warning for when you use any type of Scroll on a locked item, as a forewarning that if, say, that scroll you're using was a 70% or 30%, that the item still--obviously--has the chance of being destroyed and thus would destroy the locked item.

Usually people lock their items so hackers can't drop them/take them/destroy them. So that's why the warning is there, even if you, the owner, are using a Scroll and even if the Scroll is or isn't a 70% or 30%.

English?

But I HIGHLY (99.99999999% sure) doubt that a 60% would destroy an item, whether it's locked or not. But then again, it is Nexon, so you never do know...

It's just a glitched (sort of) warning.

They apparently couldn't do a check on whether or not the scroll was light/dark for some reason, so any scroll on a sealed item gives a warning "just in case".

The whole "Due to the potency of the scroll" is really like a bad translation, it should be more along the lines of "If you're using a dark scroll".

It's just there so you understand your seal won't keep a dark scroll from breaking the item.

But.. "Due to the potency of the scroll" sounds a lot better. Tongue

I think they did it purposely.

They still could have phrased it "Due to the potency of a dark scroll, if you're using one it could still destroy your item" or similar.

Or, say, check to see if you're using a dark scroll, or any other scroll that destroys stuff, THEN display that message, and otherwise not display it at all.

We've already established competency isn't one of Nexon's core competencies. Or Wizet if you want to blame them, since they're technically the developing arm.

*uses an anniversary scroll*

*item booms*

"OMG I THOUGHT ONLY DARK SCROLLS BOOMED IT I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!"

Ignore the problem of being able to scroll the item in the first place and use ur friggin' imagination Rolleyes

Oh, and clean slate scrolls fall into the non-dark category as well.

The purpose of an item lock is then somewhat negated by the fact that you can scroll the item with dark scrolls. The idea is that if you're account has been compromised, the 'hacker' can't drop/trade/sell the item. So to prevent this we have an item lock. So now as the 'hacker' I have a good chance of destroying the item just by applying 30% scrolls.

Except if you've still got slots on your item, how is your item good enough to warrant locking? It's not "done" yet.

If it's as good as you're going to get it, 10% the last slot or w/e.

Leaving them immune to dark scrolls would've been a far nastier thing.
Reminds me. I have some stirge pants to blow up so I don't have to open a ticket.

They can also clean slate it, lol. I wonder if you can disassemble locked items, as locks were released before maker and nexon could've forgotten or not cared.

It wouldn't let me disassemble mine.

Thought there was an error message when you tried to clean slate?

I guess there's zero reason to buy item locks now Smile

What about a 63 attack 2 (4) slot skanda kind of situation?

I know quite a few people with items "In progress". Depending on how active a money maker you are finishing off the last few slots of a perfect item can take quite awhile if you're whiting.

I suppose it's a personal preference, but I'd sure as hell lock something like that. Even if it wasn't done yet.

I don't waste locks on things that I'm likely to destroy myself trying to make them better. Locks are for finished items. Course I refuse to buy "temporary" locks so the locks available now are not on my shopping list, period. "Temporary Security" isn't.

I can understand that.

And temporary locks are indeed just plain useless. I'm surprised people are actually buying them.
