Day of Darkness 2 Event

I didn't see anything at all. I was Ludi PQing pretty much the entire time 'til a Gm smega'd about something. Still didn't see anything in Ludi, so must've been in Henesys or something because I do remember some of my PQ members lagging on the lower channels. :f6:

I see a screeny on basil with a Puff Daddy in Ludi, and we got a mega from a GM in Broa around 4 PST stating the cake was in fact, not a lie. This mega was not followed by any info regarding what town things were spawning in. I did not see any in Leafre.

Mardia got our smega at around 7:45 EST/4:45 PST from TekonosMAR who must be a new GM as I have never heard of any GM by the name. Possibly the one who had their birthday today?

Everyone I see claiming summons are from Broa... Doesn't seem like anything happened in Khaini, though I did see a GM use an avatar smega about 3 hours early. Didn't hear anyone talking about summoned monsters or see any evidence of it, though. some "Day of Darkness", compared to the first one.

Checked if I sold anything in my store when I woke up, and saw this pop up msg about Big Puff Daddy. >_> I guess they summoned again at least 1 hour after the event should have ended according to the notice/image. Wonder why they didn't actually summon anything during the times they said it would be..

Hsalf!? Now I'm mad I got my hopes up for nothing. Crapload of lag and a cake. Nexon could've done such good with this event. Guess I shouldn't be surprised.

-1 Nexon.

Don't the bosses in the CWKPQ drop the MoN?

I wonder if that Hsalf would have dropped one. :O

It was just that, tons of blue mushrooms along with the puff. Then 1 bmm's and gold etc coloured slimes, did 1 in kc,leafre and few in henesys. I hate how GM's don't interact with the players at all these days, least say hi in a promt, don't even have to come out of /hide Sad also why do they NEVER do actual GM events now Sad

We had a cake in Ludi, and apperantly they summoned in FM entrance too, saw lots of dead people. Some people in the guild said they summoned in Henesys too.

I must say the summoning event are not much to hang in the x-mas tree these days, if they ever were...

They used to be a bit more interesting at least.

This event was just crap.

Mardia got a cake in the FM entrance of Ch1, without any warning. It was slaughtered before 90% of the world even knew it was there.

It's like they didn't even bother to put effort into this one.
At least previous events they'd talk to the players via blue text and popup messages and smegas, and summoned more than one piddly creature.
It's not having what you want - It's wanting what you've got.

And if they had told everyone where the cake was going to be, that map would get flooded. Then people will complain about lag issues.

Nexon can't win here.

Not true - If everyone knew where it was everyone had equal opportunity.

Here almost noone had opportunity.

They did it in the FM entrance on CH1, it was already lagged and flooded because of all the spammers there.

They might not be able to win, but they could at least try.

Well like back in BETA! And early gms, patmk etc when doing gm events (real ones) they'd put a scrolling notice up and everyone was looking at all channels in lith harbor, if got lucky you found gm and got in they'd do a few then say do one more and say the channel via editing scrolling text.

As one example. They used to talk to us a lot more. I have a certain gm <==== on my BL (fyi before n00bs flame, you can't add a gm but they can add you), I'm shocked he's not been deleted since I've not seen that character on for ages <_<

To anyone who wonders why the events get suckier and less GM interaction occurs, here is the simple answer: they just don't give a ****.

The events aren't going to get any better, or more interesting. Just let it go. When they announce these events, don't even glance with your eyes. Don't waste an hour or two looking for where the summons might even be. They STRUGGLE to half-ass it. Just don't bother.

They don't want to really be there, they don't want to talk to you, they don't give a damn about the game or your existence. You care, yes, but they certainly do not. It is incredibly easy for them to communicate to you, easier than you think it is. And still they choose not to. Time to get the hint guys. Remember, they don't think they're paid enough to bother with the players. Nexon doesn't hire anyone that is pumped for the MMO experience.

I think that's a bit too cynical. While most of the summoning events have been pretty lame, the last one was actually really good:

And you can see there, they announced where they would be summoning, and they actually went to every town and summoned. Orbis, ludi, NLC, all the major towns in victoria, Leafre, etc. They really did hit everywhere. Not only was this summoning event actually challenging but it was referenced to in game as a one-time event by quests and such well beforehand, they built up to it and it went off well. If they had executed this one in the same way, but with the CKPQ bosses and other stepped-up monsters then it could have been really good. Given that this was apparently to celebrate a GM's birthday, you would think at least that particular GM would have taken to making sure it was a success. After all why would they just randomly do it for a GM's birthday? Said GM would probably have had to make some effort to encourage the leadership at Nexon to let it happen, as it's not exactly the kind of thing executives would do on their own.

Executives are paid a ridiculous amount to think up these kind of things...the stupid people in suits have ruined a lot of things I enjoy(thinks of all the great TV shows FOX has cancelledHothead)
