Losing Connection for no apparent reason
#1
I'm not exactly sure what's going on with my maple, I'm fairly sure it's somehow related to the internet here, but I'm not sure how exactly to go about solving things. To the problem:

I'll have DC'ing epidemics during the day, seemingly never late at night, or early morning. I'll be going along shoving throwing stars into the faces of innocent woodland creatures, and then I'll get lag that doesn't actually stop.

Like when you lag out for a couple seconds, with monsters and people frozen in place, then you come back into real-time with the monsters/people running across the screen at mach five to where their new positions are. Except they aren't running to their new positions for me; Forever locked in whatever pose they stopped in. This doesn't happen once, and then stop, but repeat itself again and again for a while, then after I go do something, come back, and start playing again, sometimes it will work just fine, and other times it will continue to freeze my friends in invisible ice.

I downloaded 'NetBalancer', some program that sets internet priorities and monitors network traffic in the same way that the Task Manager does, the result giving me a graph that tells me nothing I didn't already know. There's no common pattern, all that happens is Maple seemingly decides that downloading & uploading data is too much work and stops actually doing either.

I'm using the same laptop, Wireless Router, and install of maple story that I used at my previous house, where things worked seamlessly. Wiring my laptop directly into the Wireless Router or internet box thing itself doesn't help any.

Is your subscription to your internet service different? Is you have a different bandwith, that might do it.

It's different internet than before, but the internet itself isn't cutting out to cause this. It cuts out every so often, but when the infinite lag starts, if I have anything else connected to the internet it continues to run just fine.

I'm tempted to say it's the server. I'm on Bera too, and I get ridiculous amounts of lag, starting recently, only in the day. My friend gets regularly d/ced, on Bera. Pretty sure it's just Bera.

Also experiencing this problem. However, it may overlap with my problem of bandwidth distribution.

Currently, when 3 computers are connected to the internet, it slows to a deadly crawl. With 1, it gets better, but still not complete. Even so, you've listed part of my problem here.

I just had to ask. Who's your ISP?

Very good question that I don't remember the answer to.

I think it's Comcast, but I could be wrong. I'll check when I go back tonight.

Maple works just fine on Quest.

About it being Bera: Doubt it personally, I had the same problem when I tried making a character on Broa.
