2 Mayor patches in 1 is too bug sensitive, and will take -way- too much time to implement correctly (2 days server check anyone? ).
Besides that, more new (even also high lvl player area's) > Pirates. If they would release pirates now, maybe 20% of the players would be enthousiastic because of new content for them, now with new area's for all lvls => everyone gets new content!
So yea, next (big) patch = Crimsonwood, Pirates are for later this year!
As already said, A lot of people want pirates already. I doubt only 20% of the maplestory population would make them. The desire to be the # 1 viper/captain in gms is visible throughout the posts. For me, I'd rather see crimsonwood first and pirates shortly after. I still need equips to gather for mine

i pretty much fall in line with isaac's thinking, adding my opinion that adding pirates and ck at the same time with no testing would probly be an incredibly terrible idea. i would however like to see those area bosses a bit sooner then that. *wants to finish those stinking quests.....and turn into a red snail, booyah for snails*

I still stick to my Holiday patch=pirates theory. We tend to have big things happen In the December patch...
They need to revamp all the old events... Make something new...
We'll probably get some random useless nooby cities in those patches... they'll turn to Ghost towns like Omega Sector (except for the fact that Nautilus can link back to there i believe).

Anyway, if we're actually going to talk about what's left to add and what's left in the year, we have few decent choices. Magatia is great, but for whatever reason it's almost always held at bay. Elin Forest has crept into our data, and with the recent changes to it Pirates are no longer a prerequisite. then again, there's also no quests in Elin at all so all it really is are a few new 4x and 5x monsters. Iron Mutae and Roids in Magatia are probably way better for this training period anyway. Time Temple's still too new to really be on the table.
No need to even really talk about pirates in detail since everyone thinks they know all about them.
And then, we're left with world tour areas, which I have come to despise for their overall uselessness. Thailand's Floating Market, a veritable junk-filled swamp, Taiwan's Formosa, which has its' only real saving grace in the form of a "Maybe, one day..." town, and China's Shanghai which is probably the single worst town ever invented.
So, what's really left, then?
Magatia - Finish up Ossyria/Nihal, Get the Black Magician storyline rolling
Elin Forest - The second step of Black magician storyline, references pirates however they're not required
Nautilus Port - Pirate Job, more Black Magician Storyline. Generally considered a huge update. Can come before or after Magatia
Shanghai - excuse me while I vomit. >_>
Formosa - After you beat Snack Bar, you probably won't come back. I hear the quests are frustratingly difficult as well.
Floating Market - lol only good training spot is for 1x.
So there you have it. 6 areas: 3 good, 3 bad. from now to the end of the year, we've got probably 5 content patches left. We all also know how much Nexon likes storylines and getting Magatia out there definitely sets the base for further additions to both Masteria and Ossyria. We also know they've got something special planned for this halloween, which we can only hope will equal or surpass last year's amazing event (though how they might do this I have no idea.)
So, personally, I think it'll be something more like this:
Late August - Magatia, no PQ (who expected Mu Lung/Herb Town/Pine Forest after NLC?)
Mid September - Area Bosses + Magatia PQ
Early October - Whatever amazing Halloween event they have planned
Early November - Probably just dumb turkeys as usual. Maybe a crappy world tour area, who cares which one...
Early Decemeber - Maplemas vs. Versalmas again, probably with some new twists. our happyville was changed from the CMS version to the KMS version, no way to know if this will stick. Perhaps more Area Bosses will be released.
I think this is pretty feasible but i'm thinking krakadia for oct/nov (awesomeness) but no mention of singapore awww but yeah highly doubt we'll have pirates this year (maybe as a big thing for jan like we got 4th jobs this past one) though i'd like to see magatia and the pq in one patch just cause i want the eye of horus for my priest so badly.... what about the glove from the other pq? any thoughts on when we get those additions?

I'm not going to even try to guess at minor things because that's completely unpredictable. The reason I split Magatia and Magatia PQ up is because CMS just did that. Basically my prediction is a similar pattern to what happened last year: after a summer of great, huge updates, we get one last nice update to seal the deal as people return to school, then smaller updates until it reaches holiday time. Not only does this give Nexon time to take a breather but lets some people focus a bit more on their schoolwork (lolyeahright)
Monster Book, Maker Skill (once Magatia is out), PQ upgrades, etc. are all smaller things that could come at any time (however I'm inclined to believe Monster Book will be released with Area Bosses on my schedule. That would mean most of the monsters in the book at its' first release in KMS are present.)

I have a Feeling we might get Krakia for November. I mean, we got hints of it last year during the events. It's been a year, they should release something related to it. Also, I always think we could get Coke Town for December, seems like a perfect addition for that time. Anyways, we're still due something for this month. We got a patch the 8th, but that wasn't content. They fixed something from the last patch. So, lets hope we get Crimsonwood Keep, I don't feel like waiting until August.

I'd like to think that Krakia might be out, but for some reason I don't really think so. Krakia seems like a very technological place and it looks like right now we're exploring the past of Masteria. I guess we can't judge this for sure until Crimsonwood's out. Though, the Taru in TCG set 3 are a good sign if you hope for Krakia, since Crimsonwood was the main focus of Set 2 and one of several focal points at set 1. Krakia is also referenced to in a few set 2 items. Also keep in mind we have no idea what their plan for Halloween is, and if there's any other place which says "Halloween" besides a Haunted House, it's a Mad Scientist's lab.
According to the FTP data and the event endings, Crimsonwood was at least initially scheduled for July. It may be delayed but the plan was for it to come out at the end of this month.

lol waiting till august is 6 more days... i figure it'll be on either 30/31(most likely imo)/1 and at the latest 5/6 so yeah not long plus if they wait till the 5th then they'll prob do another patch late in august with new content (assuming they work out the bugs with cimsonwood by then) cause of the offset of patches

JMS got a more advanced version of Coke Town than KMS, but they removed it after only 1 month.
Why on earth would it be illegal to have the data passively sitting there? For one, we're not really supposed to be able to see it. It's kinda like free advertising just for us knowing it exists.
For that matter why would anyone even care if coke town came out? It sucks for training, almost all the quests require you to actually buy coke to complete them... It looks ok, but honestly you might go there once or twice but in the end it's about as useful as Florina Beach. People forget it exists.

The Taru were pretty much all killed off by the Krakians, whatever they are. The few survivors apparently went to Victoria Island, and of them, the only one left (that we know of) a thousand years later is Corine.

But what evidence do we have ruling out the idea they fled and founded their own city? Maybe Vineland, it sounds like it's high up, so they could stay out of reach of Krakians there.

You have to admit there are some really freaking weird laws out there. I'm not sure, but like I said I'm extremely open minded for anything to happen. I mean, it may suck but it would still be a pretty cool town to have, no?

Ok, Corine says:

So they were not human. It also sounds like a drastic change in behavior, which might lead one to believe they were being controlled or manipulated. Since Foxwit's from the future, it's no stretch to assume his archenemy also has time traveling powers. In this case, it explains why he shares a name with these creatures and the jungle: They're named after him, for presumably manipulating them as he went back in time. Crazy time travel causality.
However, they're not just modified monsters either. To build a city they must have been intelligent.
