Suggestions for improving Maple Story

I've been playing Maple for a long time now and I think it's great how the game continues to go through improvements on the User Interface such as monster book and the family system and gameplay such as skills and mob spawn. But there are still things I would like to see changes to.

Taming Mob
-have the ability to attack while riding on the mob
-give the mob hp to act as a buffer like magic/meso guard
-have a variety of mobs to choose from that give bonuses in certain environments. example: turtle gets increase in speed in underwater maps
Monster Book
-allow card effects and exp bonus to work even after getting the 5th card of the same mob
Bossing
-have less of 'epic' bosses that have billions of hp and require 30 people to take it down
-make the bosses have attacks that can be avoided
-have the boss fights in larger maps
-have objects that can be destroyed to damage the boss. ex: destroy a chain holding a chandelier so that it drops on the boss to do massive damage

My main problem with MS is that it gets extremely repetitive training on mobs such as cycling a map for hours and even bossing where you pretty much attack a punching bag for an hour or so, so I thought I would voice what I would like to see done to MS. Feel free to input changes you would like to see as well.

I don't agree with the mob because it kind of takes the unique ability of Corsair, not that its a dumb idea or anything but people would ride them all the time and it become a 50mil necessesity.

My list?

Take off the dumb "can't drop in fm", it's a lil annoying, yes it saves people from 'drop transfering' and ending up with an unfortunate ending however, if nexon wants to nerf that then they should add a LOT more storage slots.

Auto pot being nerfed by a skill and/or another potion. I paid for a potion to activate without me doing a keystroke, I don't think its worth the price when it actually be nerfed and not do it at all. Speaking of this topic, the auto pot 'bar' should have a %'s with a ratio with your hp making precise hp limits.

Unable to change channel/change equip while stunned I think is just stupid and a hindrance. You're at bf and need to change between equips and bam you can't cus jr Pineapple feels like playing tag and has frekin alzeimers when he comes back thinking he didnt tag you e_e

Shadowers should get a slight damage % raise on BS, so they are competitve with other classes rather than a class dropped when it comes to solo DPS

Game adminstrators need to be online. This leaf brigade crap isn't doing anything.

Hp washing shouldn't cost so much if it becomes 'neccessary' in order to fight PB or HT. However I have an idea that nexon is telling us to add some in hp rather than focus solely on damage. Trying to nerf damage slightly, but if they were smart they'd just stop the hp washing process all together so people dont have to pay 80$ to survive a hit.

Abilitiy to mute smega's, blacklist to work in "all' chat too.

All and all Nexon needs to excerise their power in game, this crap of hiding and banning spamming mules is useless. I'd rather they ban people that are actually a problem rather than some silly spammer.

I think I covered the major problems.

I'd like the once-a-day timers to simply be 24-hour timers. I just never knew when I can fame again, or crap like that. Same for once-a-month things involving faming somebody more than once. Change it to a 30 day timer.

Make it so leechers can not gain EXP when they haven't moved for more than 5-10 minutes. If the leecher thinks he/she's a wise guy and tries to find spot to walk in place, that would count as well.

SMEGA blocker option.

More cursed scrolls dropping from monsters.

Allow a buyable Safety Charms option from NPCs. People can then buy a charm from an NPC or with NX. Either way it further eliminates the EXP loss pain to the point dying is almost as friendly as dying in WoW.

Moar meso sinks. Town donation medals are not enough.

I don't like the idea of buff mules. I know some people rely heavily on HS/HB/SE mules, but it gives people with multiple computers a huge advantage while playing the game. It doesn't take a lot of time to make a buff mule these days, and it's annoying to hear how HS isn't an advantage for Bishops because AMs can bring along their HS mules.

Actually, I'm just unhappy with how much of an advantage people with multiple computers have in general, be it in CPQ or xferring items or anywhere else. Not sure how this problem can be addressed, though.

You think maple people benefit from having multiple computers? You can't be more wrong. World of Warcraft has crazier people than that.

CPQ muling is what really pisses me off - teams that will party on a mule character, begin a match, then kick the extra person (It's happened to me twice) to give themself an easy win. Buff mules technically aren't doing anything wrong, and the alternative would just be people paying someone to sit in a map and buff them (people used to ask me to do this at Pianus/Pap when I was 8x). Not really any way to do away with that, besides what has already been done - requiring the character to move occasionally. Maybe make it so if the character will automatically un-party under set conditions, or block it from partying a person if certain conditions are met (I haven't thought through what conditions those would be though).

  • disband Excellent and some other guilds similar
  • remove Maple TVs
  • should've never implemented Vicious Hammer
  • get a better goddamn hack protection system
  • make PQs better
  • make some actual innovative content
  • make sense out of MTS (what you can and can't put in)
  • make it so that APQ Rombots spawn in Maya's house every 5 minutes

Revamp the defense mechanism so it's useful
Revamp the magician formulas so any mage with more than 4 luck isn't retardedly weak.
Remove maple TVs
Increase use of teleports in training maps.
More adventurer exclusive s'hit:
Revamp animations for adventurers
Make certain skills less useless
Create more variety in builds - Pretty much every single build is a cookie cutter one, especially aran

My bolding - I have still yet to see a large-mob oriented bossfight, which would make me extremely happy. Weapon Defense working on a % basis (with, say, 100wdef equalling 10 or even 5% would be nice, giving warriors a semi-noteworthy edge from our extra wdef) would be extremely helpful. Fix either Iron Will or Bless - make IW stronger or have a different effect or take away def/wdef from Bless.
