7 * 4 * 10 + 35 + 14
or if you want it totally unsolved...
(7*4) * 10 + (7*5) + (7*2)

I've always used round numbers (stuff ending in 0 or 5) to calculate odd ones (actually, the equation I put up there would be more like ...35 + 10 + 4, how I've always done it). I still memorize my twos, threes, fours, etc. from second grade, so I have no problem doing stuff like this...

First option, except for the multiplying by ten part. I just automatically calculate 7*40 instead of 7*4*10.

However, if I had to guess, I did 7*50 - 21, and just didn't think about it. 'Spose it comes naturally.

I did the math in my head. Didn't picture any paper or pencil, just floating numbers. I also vocalize in my head what I'm thinking to help me keep track of what I'm doing.
