I added in the 7 Lightning Charge early on since I've been living in Singapore since level 42. Tried to keep casting it+booster convenient.
I loved having EC+EB early on since the big mobs help you gain energy quickly. I don't really like having to charge CSB for max damage. It's just really a rush skill for me. 
Is there are huge difference in energy charging while leveling up charge? Mine's only at level 2 currently, and even maxed out rombots in cpq make it seem quite slow to charge, relative to its duration.

^Huge difference, at least twice as fast at maxed than level1, plus longer duration.
Mobby place like mp3, windraider I can keep charged 80-90% of the time.

That attack is the best thing to happen to strikers.
I didn't stop using it until 100, and I still use it against mobs.
Sharks is fast and does some nice damage, but you're going to be able to cut mobs down faster and better with it.
Unless of course you don't have updated skills.

Is Shockwave really that bad for Thunder Breakers? Going by the attack speeds in that sticky, Shockwave is quite a bit stronger than Shark Wave even if it is slower.
I understand that Buccaneers have Dragon Strike so it's rather useless for them. I also know that Shockwave gets cut off if the map isn't perfectly flat, but is that really a problem considering that Himes and Skeles are possible training grounds for Strikers?
To me, it seems like Blast can be left at level 11 in 2nd job. I currently have level 11 Blast and it's amazing. However, I don't intend on finishing it until high level 6x, which made me debate whether it's worth finishing at all at that point. Shark Wave has massive range so I don't see myself using such a close ranged attack like Blast. Any experienced Strikers have any thoughts on this?

You also need 20points in transform to use it efficiently, even then, you'll only be able to use it half the time. And slower higher damage attack often cause over kill. Plus all the other cons it has, just not worth maxing imo.
Blast I'm not sure, but you definitely have enough SPs so why not max it.
Edit: Also shock wave cannot be casted on air if I remembered it right, and it has a shorter vertical range too.

Striker's Transform maxes at level 10 and it has the same cooldown as a Buccaneer's Super Transform (2 minutes, though you're transformed for 1 minute so the cooldown is technically only 1 minute).
Also, by not putting 3rd job SP into Booster, I can max Energy Drain a lot earlier.

You can jump cast shockwave. Done it plenty of times ^.~

dont forget that strikers get 2 skills that are more beneficial to skills that dish out more hits -- sparks and crit. 930 ms vs 1740 ms means youre dishing out almost twice as many hits for sparks and crit to work magic on.

..by casting in air you mean jump casting right...?
If yes, then YES you can cast shockwave in "air" but you need to have been on the ground first. You can't like, jump off a platform and cast it mid-fall.

Hmm, that's a good point, I neglected Critical and Sparks. I guess I'll do some damage calculations, though I don't know how to factor in Sparks. :f6:

No I mean jump into air and cast. Which shock wave can't, shark wave can.

Shark wave will win clearly. You can see it as you have twice the critical rate using shark wave than using shock wave. Plus being able to cast on air, longer range, less over kill, available all time, smexy, hawt, pwnage, unique, special, etc. Shark wave hands down.

well sparks has no cast time so you directly add the % sparks does to how much % the wave does. if you assume a mob of 6, level 1 sparks will nab you 12 extra hits (2 for each mob the wave hits) for 82% each... right? havent played a sparker yet. i refuse to take out a calculator
