Who would win?
#1
If Lelouch from Code Geass and Light from Death Note had a battle of wits; who do you think would win?

Both of them hide behind another named (Lelouch - Zero, Light - Kira) and both of them are considered geniuses. Both of them also have the ability to quickly end someones life (Lelouch - Geass, Light - Death Note) but both of their abilities have a limitation (Lelouch - has to look the person in the eye and can only use his geass once per person, Light - Must know the name of the person and be able to picture their face). Not only do they have these similarities, but they also both hide their identity very well. Lelouch hides behind his Zero mask, and Light is just an anonymous high school student.

If both of these two set out to kill each other; who would kill who first?

Never watched Code Geass, but I'll say Light. Light can just look away while writing Lelouch's name down.

Why no L? =(

lol, ripped from SW.

I'd go for Lelouch on a completely biased standpoint just cause I like his character better =X

Lelouch hands down. If Light doesn't have Misa on his side he is nothing if he has no idea what their identity is. Lelouch makes eye contact and it's game over.

I will say this though: Lelouch is "soft". There are times you see his "human" side (Shirley, Nunally, etc.) whereas with Light its always "How will I continue to manipulate?". There's no human side to him. That might be enough for Light to win, sadly =X

how often do you see light make a mis-calculation?

and how often do you see lelouch make some horrible move which results in the deaths of hundreds?

If Lelouch was right in front of Light, of course Lelouch would win. Big Grin On a side note, I prefer Lelouch over Light.

As much as I like Lelouch over Light. I'd have to say Light would win. RIP LULU Sad

Light would win. Lelouch simply cares too much about people who are close to him (like Nunally), whereas Light can kill anyone.

Warning: throwing around a few Geass R2 spoilers down here.

Depends partially on the technology level. If Lulu comes into Light's world with Shinkirou and his hax-bodyguards (Guren SEITEN + Kallen and Lancelot Albion + Spinzaku), then he could probably make a tactical strike blowing up most of Japan, hopefully killing Light, and then go hide somewhere.

If Light comes into the Geassverse with his manipulated investigation team, he could probably manipulate his way into a ~9th generation Frame (and maybe get geass himself - deathnote + immortal = 40-second control whenever? assuming that you don't need that pesky basically-forgotten original name) and then he'd be backed up by a bunch of people with good surveillance skills.

In terms of skills and aptitudes, Light seems to be more of a personal manipulator - he focuses entirely on evading capture and killing people. He also goes up against other geniuses specifically - L, while powerful, is not anything more than a brilliant detective. Also becomes rather inhuman very quickly, as noted by above posters.

Lelouch, however, is a both personal manipulator and a political figure, as his Zero persona controlled the UFN before being exposed and now, as Lelouch vi Brittania, controls the Empire. He also manipulates those around him rather viciously (see: Rolo), but has soft spots for his true friends and pretends to be eviller than he is. Would probably lose without his mecha, unless he was in his screw free will mode and went around geassing world leaders (which would probably lead to a tactical nuclear strike sooner or later, obliterating him).

Mano-a-mano on, say, the Isle of Man? If Lelouch can turn his cross-armed typing prowess into fast speaking, he could Geass Light in the second that Light probably needs to look at his face, but it'd be a tossup whether or not the name could be completed before it kicks in - add in the cool animation showing the nerves rearranging themselves to give an advantage to Light. If he has his mask, then it basically defaults to Lelouch. Alternatively, Light could bring sunglasses and then overpower Lelouch physically. Though, with Lelouch's double-geass now, it'd be harder to keep his eyes covered while restraining him... anyways, this is a basic coinflip.

Other than above one-on-one matchup, it's rather hard to determine which one would win without a more specific scenario.

Well here is my argument; so Death Note is 37 episodes and Code Geass has 50 total.

Light believes himself to be god; he would never do something that would shorten his lifespan

lelouch would win, he not only has a powerful team of battle mechs and a girl who can't die even when shes shot in the head, but hes going against a guy with a power dependent on writing a piece of paper. After getting c-2 to steal the notebook and lure the god of death away with apples lelouch could charge in with his team and kill light then and there

If it was Light one on one vs. Lelouch Light would probably die.. Keep in mind Light could get shinigami eyes. But then he would have to look straight ahead at Lelouch to see his name etc. Lelouch would then seize the oppurtunity activate his Geass and command Light to die! ;o

Battle of wits =/= Battle of (special) abilities people. Therefore the "one on one" concept is null and void since it would basically be a battle of abilities.

Yet, it also says that "If both of these two set out to kill each other, who would kill who first?".
That greatly implies powers, I believe, as a chess match generally isn't deadly and neither of them can do much killing without their abilities.

I will say, however, that Light seems to be more like the crazy-prepared Batman (shark-repellent bat-spray) than Lelouch does, so in terms of planning he's probably better.
