I resent that highly - I've played for going on 3 years now, and only the most recent few months have been with a lot of NX. I spent the first 2 years having absolutely horrible gear, but I still enjoyed the game. I could care less even now if my gear is average, above, or below - I'll improve it where I can, when I can, and enjoy the game regardless. If you can't enjoy the game because your gear is below average, that's YOUR fault, not Nexon's. Nothing about the hammer makes your old gear any less useful.

Nice edit. It's an online game. Don't tell me you don't care about how you're doing compared to others at all, I've seen your monster book. Why post it if all you care about is your personal completion of it?

I hate unlevel playing fields. I have an obsession with balance in games. It's more that I don't want other people running around with insanely overpowered equips because they spent a bunch of NX than me being butthurt because I have to spend more NX to upgrade my own equips. I've been using the same equips for the past 6 months. I'm by no means a damage whore.

Yes, I know this game is already horribly unbalanced, but most of the time these things can be countered with skill and patience, but Nexon just keeps stacking it on.

I post it because I'm proud of it? I don't post it in competition with everyone else who posts there's and haven't done so since the official competition. But the game isn't a competition so competing in everything you do in game is not the same as me competing for prizes in an actual competition.
