MapleSEA "Black Magician" Fan Art Contest

Dear Maplers,
Have you ever wonder what the evil Black Magician looks like under the cape? Let your imagination run wild and unleash your creativity in this Fan Art contest!



Starting Date : 10th July 2009
Ending Date : 14th August 2009

Prizes
1 Champion and 2 runner-ups will be selected:
Champion Prize: 1 warrior figurine + 1 set of Pirate Class Mousepads
Runner-up Prize: 1 Sketch Book + 1 Memo Pad + 1 PC Decal
• Winners will be notified on prize collection details via their Qbox within 7 days after the event end.

How to participate?
• Submit a fan art of what you think the Black Magician could look like.
• Submitted fan art must be self-created through hand-drawn or digital means and should not be larger than 640×480 pixels. There should NOT be any screenshot edits or tracing of print-outs.
• Your IGN must be stated below the fan art for contact purpose. Otherwise, the participated art work will not be considered.
• All art works must be submitted to the designated forum thread (http://forums.asiasoftsea.net/showthread.php?t=649316 (Thanks Alilatias)) located at MapleSEA PlayPark forum.
• Every participant is allowed to post more than 1 art work. However, only 1 of the participated art works will be selected from each IGN.

Availability
• The contest is opened to all players in Singapore and Malaysia only.

Terms and Conditions
In order to take part in the event, you agree with the terms and conditions hence stated:
• All submitted fan art images must be from original user. Usage of another person’s fan art is not allowed.
• Any artworks found copied from any animations; comics or other sources will not be considered.
• Artworks must not be posted in any other platforms or threads in PlayPark forums and/or otherwise.
• Any unrelated posts would be removed immediately without further warning.
• All artworks created must be appropriate (i.e. no offensive, sexual, abusive representations etc.). Failure to meet these criteria will result in the entry being removed. Participant may also liable to be dealt with according to our User Abuse Policy.
• Winner will have to bring proof of originality if selected (i.e Original pencil drawing or softcopy) for verification purposes.
• All personal details stated in your Asiasoft Passport must be valid. (e.g. National ID and address)
• Winners will be informed with details of the prize collection. Proof of identity will be required during the prize collection.
• Asiasoft Online reserves all rights to use the submitted posts for the purposes of marketing promotions. Artworks may be used according to the absolute discretion of the organizers for the said purpose.

As some of you know, that Black Magician image is from the Aran video.

Edit: lolpomegranate this is probably posted elsewhere. I never saw it so posted it. ^^;;

I've been following the contest since it was started, and so far, most of the earlier 'entries' are mostly joke/troll entries.

Some of the real entries are pretty nice though. The 'Dark Magician is a girl' direction that some of them are taking is kinda interesting.

I wouldn't be surprised if he was a Lycant/Tauro type deal, considering we haven't seen further branching for those monsters like we have yetis, mushies, etc.

I doubt he would be a full Lycan/Tauro-esque creature. Maybe somewhere around the lines of a centaur or a (insert species of creature named Tumnus from The Chronicles of Narnia here).

Though I'd rather he be human. Voldemort or Palpatine, anyone?

By looking at the nexon rendering, it's head appears to be a skull. Since the nose is missing.

Mystery solved:

I think he would be part human part Tauro/Lycan/Balrog simply because he's related to alchemy and he would probably have messed around with his own body to enchance his abilities so he most likely would've added some small extras. Although I'm pretty sure Voldemort sort of did that too, but then he decided to be something human like after all.

I really hope he is Balrog like. And what I hope even more is that he has his own tower and that he has not one but two or even three boss fights, all in the same PQ... Something for Maple additions, but I can't get much further than this.

Maybe this Black Magician guys is like Sigma from MegamanX series: keeps coming back in a different form.

Quite honestly I dunno if he's like LOLVoldemort or something, having means of extending his life through followers or artifacts or some shyt.

All of the guys immediately draw the most pineappleed up pomegranate they can think of and girls are like IMAGINE IF THE BLACK MAGICIAN WAS A GIRL?? more like "Dark Magician Girl" is a totally separate thing that these people are referencing to and not that they actually think the black magician is a girl.
