Seriously. I want to get an MP3 player that can play videos as well, and at a decent quality. Around 50GB - 100GB will do. Though anything higher is ok as well. I heard a lot of things about iPods, and how they die pretty fast, is this true? I'd like some opinions about both players before I buy either one of them. Thanks, guys!

I'd wait for the ZuneHD. It's going to blow the iPod out of the water.
I hate my iPod so much. It always lags, sometimes it takes a minute to get to the loading screen, it will randomly change volumes all of a sudden blasting my ear drums. Can't wait to sell it and buy me a Zune.

both ipods ive had randomly broke (hard drive broken). The apple genius ppl told me both times that i would have to buy a new one (but i could trade in my old one for 10% off. woo!). I dont know how zunes are, but i do know that ipods piss me off after having 2 of them randomly break (first time was 2 months after the warranty expired, the second one was 5 months) and the apple genius ppl not being able to fix them.

You know, old iPods used to be really good. Newer ones are kinda fragile. By old I mean those black and white screen 40GB ones.

Anything but an iPod. If you're anything like me, you'll end up getting frustrated with it, try to fix it yourself, and the end result will be this:
They're extra sensitive.
They freeze up on you a lot.
The battery wears out fast if you leave it on a stereo dock, plugged in the computer, plugged in period longer than it takes for it to charge/longer than you're using it and if you do it often.
You get a one year warranty when you first purchase it (unless you buy a seperate warranty for it, which I reccommend if you get one). My first video iPod I had to get replaced 4 times in a year.

I like my things to look good, so I've always stuck with iPods. However, my newest one (4th gen nano) was working perfectly until it got hit by a wave down by the seaside. It still works, but only when plugged into the computer, and as soon as I unplug it, it turns off ¬¬
I would recommend the Zune because I heard they are way more durable.

I have a Zune and I love it. So far, I've only had one issue, where when I plug it into my computer it's not detected as a propor USB device, but a quick restart of my Zune fixes that. I got one in August, but that broke after about a month because I accidentally layed down on it and broke the navigation pad. The new one I got for Christmas, however, has been working fine since then. It's a 16 GB.

iPod = looks sexy but feels pretty laggy and will break if dropped a couple of times
Zune = much more practical

Ok, thanks for the advice/input, guys. =) I'll be looking forward to getting a 120 GB Zune eventually. ;P If not, then the Zune HD as GMSInfighter has recommended me on getting. =)

I don't believe I'd need a Zune HD for the same reason I don't need my iPod Touch (Once I find out what the Zune HD is like I'll decide what I want to trade it off for); I hardly use its extra features. If that sounds like you, I'd probably just go with a regular Zune, though I hear the Zune HD will be integrated with XBL...and comes in 64GB memory. tee hee

I have a Zune 30Gb 1st Gen. It's big, but it works with little to no problems.
However, my family has two 8gb Zunes, and only one of which had to be shipped to Microsoft for hardware failure. The other has been working fine.
I personally don't like iPods because of what I've heard about them from friends, but I personally can't say anything good or bad about the iPod, due to the short time I've actually played around with one.

Wait for the Zune HD. That's what I'm doing. I really don't like my iPod. Though, the main reason I want a Zune is because of my Microsoft products all working nicely together (Windows 7, Xbox 360, etc).

i don't think the ipod looks any better. the zune is a pretty piece of machinery, and that screen. ho baby, plus it's got those gigantic cd art. i'm getting a little hot here.
i love my 120gb zune, there are a few things it lacks like an alarm, but i think it still takes the cake. plus no itunes, the spawn of virtualsatan.
you might want to get a zuneHD though, i broke my screen so i'll probably upgrade to one.
