What did you learn today?
#61
I learned that watching the same episode of an anime over an over again won't make the next eppisode to be released faster.

Ah yes, a painful lesson we all must learn. I learned some things about methylmercury today :f6:

1+1=2 and no one can change that fact =)

If you let a = 1 and b = 1, then a = b.
Then for fun, multiply a to both sides, (a)(a) = (a)(b).
Then subtract b^2 from both sides, a^2 - b^2 = ab - b^2.
Then factor both sides, (a - b)(a + b) = b(a - b).
Simplify, a + b = b.
Substitute a = b: b + b = b
b + b = b
2b = b
2 = 1.

I('m) learned/ing to apply math to practical things... and learned/ing everything that's possible by dividing by zero.

Though technically, the above is only possible because you're actually factoring out a 0 (that sounds odd) from the equation when you remove (a-b) from both sides.

I learned that despite having all the energy tanks, Phaaze from Metroid Prime 3 kicks my ass.

Conceptually, everything's wrong with it. But algebraically, there's nothing wrong with it =\.

Mm, I think no matter what, because it's a 0, you can't legitimately perform that step of the equation, since you have to remember to keep the value of the variables at all times. Dividing by zero is undefined.

But stating 2=1 does not make mathematical sense and therefore is not true 0_o

2=/=1 as we all know, but i guess there's a whole bunch of random crap that we can do in math to prove someone else wrong ...

I learned that a drug called Lasix is named that way because it "lasts six hours". Well okay, I learned that on Tuesday, but remembered it today.

Even though it has no practical use and is infact wrong because you have to divide by zero for it to make sense V(Biggrin)V

A better one is .999~=1.

1/3=.333~
1/3*3=1
.333~*3=.999~
therefore, .999~=1.

Also, I learned today that it's a lot harder to do all the lvl 20-40 victoria island quests at once than I thought before Frown
