I'm completely new to the concept of xbows and i'm fast approaching level 30. What is the suggested "cookie cutter" build for crossbowmen at 2nd job?

As far as I know, there is no new "revolutionary" build since these were made.

only thing is that you don't save points for IA anymore since the cost increase is gradual rather than a single step at 15.

Personally, I decided to delay getting booster and SA and went with iron arrow just after mastery.

Basically, which is better for mobile training (gobies and such) and which is better in stationary training (newties mainly)?

1 BE
15 SE (Passed SE30)
10 Hurricane (Passed Hurr20. Getting this to 11 next level)
1 DB

I don't train that much, and when I do, it's usually at Newties or the occasional Skeles. I'll sometimes boss as well, mainly with friends or the guild. When I boss, there's usually already one or two other bow-people with maxed SE.

Get sharp eyes first, not only will it help your damage the most (because hurricane relies on criticals to deal decent damage due to its speed), we neeb it for our boss runs >:O

Oh and get 1 point in phoenix if you want for another feathery friend.

I guess you want to maximize your damage. Here is what to do.

Hurricane to 21 asap
Then mastery to 16
Lastly get se to 20
Then go back and max hurricane, se and mastery to 27 in that order.
Se is actually the least important skill to increase your damage, people max it for boasing, not dps

This is false. Hurricane to 21 helps damage the most, then a smart distribution between Bow Expert and Sharp Eyes will keep it high. Bow Expert is actually higher priority than Sharp Eyes, too. The only reason you even need more than 1 SE early on is for the timer. I can post some numbers if you're interested.

To LaLaaLove: Get 21 Hurricane ASAP. After that, get Bow Expert to 27. And after that, Sharp Eyes to 29. This will grant you the best damage you can do with your SP.

any tips on soloing right pianus? i have enuff hp to take lasers (5.1k) but i hate how annoying it is when they laser kb me and i have to move up to attack again. and i use strafe to take out bombs.

im guessing the puppet trick doesnt work in pianus cave since map is so small T.t

you cant avoid the laser, suck it up

you can also run into a bomb right before he uses laser

If you do Arrow Rain first, what's a training spot that doesn't burn money like nothing (Typhons until puppet) or requires a pet to make profit (Red Nosed Den II)?

Would Sites at Authorized Personnel Only (The map with Parwen) be any good, or am I better off at Gryphons?

Windraiders are your best bet. You can also train at the Red Nosed Den II without a pet, just circle the map and loot every two or so minutes.

When would I start using Hurricane over Strafe?
I think I calculated it has more dps at around 7-8 SoA vs. max Strafe. I didn't include SE though, which I would get instead. I also wasn't quite sure if my calcs were right.

I would use SoA at lvl 1, but more to practice the Hurri-walk than actual fighting.

Instantly. Level 1 Hurricane. Never looked back.

I hate Strafe, and I was so glad to FINALLY be rid of it.

With any level of SE level 1 hurricane beats max Strafe
