Thunder Breaker Guide

Doxinator Wrote:Shock wave requires transformation. Shark Wave does not. Shockwave is slower than hell. Shark wave is faster; you can get (I believe I remember) close to 3 shark waves in the time it takes to cast 1 shock wave. Transform has a cool down time, so you cannot use shock wave, but you can use shark wave at any time.

Point is, Shark Wave > Shock Wave.

Wait 3 shark waves? Nvm then. If it was less than 2 Shockwave would actually be a good deal more powerful. I know about the xform requirement, it'd just be a nice power boost to have if it was stronger. You can max both, and I'd probably max Shockwave at the end (11x).

Added a few different 3rd job skill point builds for all the extra points.

With my Cygnus, I'll be maxing out Energy Drain (Extremely useful, and fast paced), and I'll be maxing out SI for maximum lasting time. I'll then throw a few points into Transform for the lulz, and maybe 1 or 2 shockwave for the lulz.

Some people may be partial to maxing out Transform and Shockwave, with 1 point in Energy Drain.

Or some people may want to try a little of each...

In the end, it all matters to the users preference as to where to put those extra points. I'm not telling you to do those builds; I just suggested something along those lines.

Just a quick note, for strikers transform maxes at level 10. So you should change that in the other possible skill builds Wink

Okay, fixed that. Totally wasn't thinking when I did that late at night last night. @_@

Training spots will be added later on in time at some point. Maybe I'll throw in some skill tables as well.

Don't know if I'm allowed to ask questions in a guide, but could someone maybe list a few pro/cons of Thunder Breakers? I'm trying to decide between them or Dawn Warriors. Thanks.

If it's possible to max out Transform or partial-max, I'd be doing that 'without' Shockwave, just for the stat-bonuses when in that mode.

Okay, did a little revamping for the guide.

Acim Wrote:Don't know if I'm allowed to ask questions in a guide, but could someone maybe list a few pro/cons of Thunder Breakers? I'm trying to decide between them or Dawn Warriors. Thanks.

Just added a Pros + Cons list. Section 0; very first. Only pulled a few off the top of my head, and if anyone else has suggestions, please let me know.

Updated all the name changes (Thunder Breaker, Ereve, Nienheart, etc).

Added a Skill Tables Section. Well, part of it anyways. Gonna put them all in once I get the Okay from Isaac.

Added a Useful Pirate Threads section towards the end of the guide (Section 13 for the moment). They will link you to some useful and fun threads.

Added a Credits Section (Section 14 for the moment). Thanks again to everyone!

I will also be adding how to obtain your Cygnus mounts in this guide. If anyone has any information on this, please let me know as I will greatly appreciate it.

You forgot the last point in Knuckle Mastery, I'd max that since the only other things you could put points into at that point are Loltning Sprite and Lolwave.

Yeah; Realized that. My second set of eyes failed to mention that when I had him look over it a few weeks back. I'll fix it asap.

~Edit~
Fixed.

~Edit Edit~
Added in the skill tables, special thanks to Isaac for allowing me to do so.

Added in Cygnus Medal information.

Added in Cygnus Mount information. If anyone has a little more information on the Titio Mount, along what items you need to have, please let me know.

Is there anything else anyone would like to see in this guide?

does the 120 mount require you to have the previous mounts to obtain it?

I haven't been able to find that anywhere, but I'm sure that you do in fact need the other mounts. On a second Cygnus character I will try to get to 120 without getting a mount at all, just to test it out.

Are there any builds for Blast/Energy Charge before CSB, or is that not recommended?

the important question here is, can you karma that lv 120 medal?

I personally find CSB VERY helpful. Level 1 range sucks; I may make another build to get it to 10 or so, then work on Charge/Blast. CSB is the best investment I've mad so far. I can do 10k with max CSB at level 52 with level 10 charge active (+15 Wep Attack). It also helps clear Truckers out FAST. I was getting an incomprehensible amount of %/Hour there at truckers yesterday, even while not on x2.

XBish Wrote:the important question here is, can you karma that lv 120 medal?

All medals can NOT be karma'd. Period.

Getting the stuff for the lv100 mount is basically like this:
The NPC sells the "milks" for so much mesos and so many items.
You need I think 2 of each milk, and there are 4 milks if I remember correctly.

So its a gradual buy and a pain to collect

modular Wrote:does the 120 mount require you to have the previous mounts to obtain it?

Yes,
100 requires 50, 120 requires 100.

I don't understand why people love CSB so much. 10k at 52? That's pretty godly gear unless you went lightning charge build. And it's totally a watse. I'm sure you can 2h or even 1h trucker with SSK, why bother CSB? Even if you go to mp3 are you gonna charge it all the time? I think you only charge it when you change platform? Other times you just tab it which the damage sucks anyways.

I believe energy charge/blast build is way better than CSB first, 2hko mp3 at with lv11 blast anyone?

It increases mobility. Big time. Truckers I could 0hko them at 46 with CSB. I have a bucc as well, and I can handle my CSB very well. CSB > SSK to finish off the others around the area, then charge CSB while you walk to the next group of monsters. The range just increases mobility a ton. It's great.

And I decided not to do Lightning Charge first; Energy seemed more beneficial to the places I decided to train.

And curious; what build are you guys doing? Energy or Lightning Charge first?

Mmmmkay.

I did blast build. 1 charge 11 blast 20 charge 20 blast. worked wonder when I started mp3 at 50, 2hko everytime. And still great at 60 when I started windraider, 3hko everytime even without lightning charge, and now(69) 2hko alot with maxed lightning charge.

Would this be a viable build if I want Energy Charge/Blast before CSB?
