The point of KoC??
#1
I know im stupid... but maybe im missing something. I hope I am.

So when KoC is implemented we have to have a character already and our new KoC character will be tied to this. What exactly does this mean?

Does the KoC character have some all mighty buffing powers that they give to my main? But then again if they are on the same account I dont see how that will work or how having a KoC tied to a main character will be beneficial at all.

I read through the skill tables but didnt really see any party buff skills. So......

are they just a new mini class, like since they have level caps? So are they mainly just an easy way out for those people who want to hit the level cap and can do it faster on a KoC then slaving away on a regular character?

If anyone can clarify for the noob that would be most appreciated, Thanks

Sorry for being noob but its confusing for a GMS only MS player.

Well there is a Buff Skill, which gets mastered determined by the highest level or Cygnus on that account.

Other than that it's probably just another class that players can enjoy playing.

Really?

They give your main 12 attack at 120 and they get a nerfed Echo of Hero. Cygnus is just a casual version of the real grind and its another way to make Adventurer classes stronger. That's it.

If you need a point for playing a game, MMOs are not for you.

wow 12 attk for my bishop... nice /sarcasm.

For above person... it just seemed like to me that the whole KoC thing is big business over lots of forums so I thought maybe it had some greater meaning.. guess its all just hype.

dont like it? dont make a KoC.

They're for the casual gamer, the ones who don't want to spent hours upon hours grinding at 120+, they can get the fun skills earlier, some new skills, and "complete" their MapleStory at 120, rather than 200 as the Adventurers do.

I put it this way:KoC is more beginner friendly than normal characters. You get your skills faster and lose quite a few along the way(hopefully the class you pick has more/better unique skills) while not really losing any power from lvl 10-120. In fact, you're probably overpowered. Since most of the population of Maple will never get to 120 anyways, I think KoC is a fun idea for them. Or if your so keen on becoming level 200 and having all your skills and boss for the rest of your life, well, good luck to you.

Also you have the "no skill book" part of it. That itself would save beginner's millions upon millions of mesos. And you can't say you'd rather have your ultimate skill maxed 20 levels sooner can ya? Tongue

You could always get level 20 Blessing of the Sprite for your Cygnus if you have a level 200 adventurer. When Aran comes out, it is also tied with Blessing so the higher level main you have the better off you are.

TS; MMOs are ALWAYS hype. Over nothing much.

arans are much different then KoC, the grinding is just as challenging, the cap level is 200, and there ARE mastery skill books for 4th class aran skills. i come from KMS which has all these classes released. and what everybody say about KoC is basically right, they are for casual grinders, they get their "ultimates" earlier on. I hope nexon adds some kinda of end game content for KoC, though. Hopefully its not just a way to make ur main adventurer stronger 8/

The point of KoC is heaving FUN, because you actually have realistic goals, lvl120 is way more realistic then lvl 200 for 99,99% of most gamers.

KoC classes have all cool to use, no-filler skills at their reach. They're excellent for having fun! Smile

KoC do have endgame content, it's at level 120. You have to defeat something strong or something. It's in the Cygnus Impressions thread.

That's a one-time boss, and level 120 isn't endgame.

End-Game Bosses for Cygnus are:

- Zakum PQ
- Guild PQ > Ergoth
- CwK PQ > All bosses
- Grandpa Balrog PQ
- Bigfoot
- Crow
- Anego
- Papulatus
- Pianus
- Leviathan
- Cpt. Latanica
- Headless Horseman
- Manon
- Griffey
- All area bosses

Enough stuff to kill imo, and dieing is ok, you won't loose anything! Tongue

The fact that the only thing to add to that list for the adventurer version is just HT and pink been is extremely depressing.
