Umineko no Naku Koro ni ep2:

HELL YES. DEEN I AM PLEASED.

They did a great job of using the VN's music, which is AWESOME. Quite satisfied with this episode, even though they surely didn't waste any time getting to the First Twilight. Speaking of which, First Twilight was done well. Very similar to VN, just quicker. I was hoping they'd show the smashed off faces better, but I'm glad they showed them some. Good job DEEN! They should have picked the same song from the VN for that scene, though; it's a lot more powerful and shocking.

VERY surprised they included the Natsuhi and Kinzo scene about having the One-Winged Eagle engraved on heart, even though she can't bear it on her clothes. I was certain they'd cut that out. Glad they didn't.

They did Kyrie's "turning the chess board around" finger snap from the manga well. I love that. Haha

Natsuhi looked so delicious after getting out of bed. That's one plus to the anime: you get to see characters looking different at times.

And man it's awesome being able to watch the RAW and understand completely what's going on. I might get spoiled.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei ep3: Finally got around to watching this. AWESOME. Rika smashing Satako with chair = LOLYES. Goodness I love this arc.

Downloading ep4 from ASR because I don't wanna wait now.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei ep4: Aww...I was kind of hoping to see Rika killing her mother. lol This is good too, though. I was happy to see a mention of the witch Bernkastel. Only one episode left!

I'm far more riveted by the style, animation, and the tiny little bits of music than the plot (which was interesting enough) after the first episode. Things looked very... clean, I guess is how I would describe it. It's trying to set itself apart a little, and I hope they keep it up.
Very much enjoyed the OP.
It did suffer a bit from the Geass-esque problem of characters looking a bit sloppy at a distance.

Really, what was I expecting from this anime?
There's no way a good ending could've emerged.

Overall score - 8/10

^ It felt like the quirkiness in Sora Kake Girl fizzled pretty hard in the middle. I finished it anyway and don't really mind that I did, as it was still entertaining... but I wish Imo would've died without anyone getting emo over it. Pineappleing hated that potato.

On a similar note. Not one, but two mahou shojo shows this season that I can only hope will be worth watching all the way through. One quirky, one straight up cliched (I have my doubts). This damn guilty pleasure genre is gonna bite me one day. Mai-hime/Otome and Nanoha were the greatest shows... it's a shame I keep my love of them so closeted.

Eh. Imo was part of the parody aspect, though. Instead of a Zero dying, we have this baked potato dying. It's making fun of the epic "oh shit, Lelouch dies!111one" ending... but such a way of doing things, though funny, is ultimately not as enjoyable as one would think.

Umineko no Naku Koro ni 02: That was fantabulous.

Princess Lover! 01: I actually found this fairly interesting. It probably won't stay this way, but damn the character designs are fapworthy. The story isn't complete lolplot either. Looking forward to more on this one, heh.

Definitely. She was okay at first, and then deteriorated into one really bad character. She should've died, even if it meant that Akiha would die. D:<

Best thing I've watched this month.

Spice and Wolf II 01: YES. That was awesome. Horo FFFFFFFFFF. Oh my God. Can't get enough. (Of my macroeconomics that is). OP was meh. ED was better, in my opinion. Mazui's subs. Didn't think there was anything to dislike about them. Too impatient to wait for BSS's Holo though.

Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu 05: Dropped until further notice. Worst show of the season.

Honestly, I don't know why I'm still watching this show. I want to watch it. I really do. But I've seen the same episode 3/4 times from different angles.

Okay, I had to post this somewhere. I...words can't express what I'm feeling right now. So I'm posting to vent.

Having a conversation with my best friend (we've been bros since 1st grade, seriously) about the new anime season. You know, typical stuff. I make fun of him for having bad taste, we agree on some series, fun moments are shared, etc. Anyway, I ask him if he's watching Umineko no Naku Koro ni yet. His response:

I can't say I'd recommend the Umineko anime to anyone going on the first episode. (I still need to watch the 2nd I'm afraid) It was way too fast and empty feeling. Without reading the VN, how the hell would anyone keep up with that many characters in a single episode, not to mention they really don't give you a feel for what any of the characters are about.

You should give him several extra assholes if he says the same thing while reading the VN though.

Dude, I have to recommend the anime because he'd never read a VN. He's one of the laziest people known to man, and he hates reading. Especially something as long as Umineko.

Plus he hates developed, intellectual things. It's rare he likes anything NOT fed to him on a silver platter.

Update though: I did get him to realize his mistake and now he's watching the first two episodes. Gosh dang.

Bakemonogatari ep1: AWESOME. I haven't been this excited watching a series in a long time. Like truly excited. Absolutely gorgeous. Please, please don't end up disappointing.

PLEASE. I think I'm gonna have to rewatch that now.
