I keep seeing those rocks, mind explaining their purpose?

Its for this Gaga quest.
collect 1k
then collect another 1.5k
then I think after 1.5k collect 2.5k
After all of that is done you can get glasses or a hat that expire, I think they are +1 to all.
Not sure, haven't gotten mine yet. :B
The rocks can be picked up in 1, 2, 3, 4 5, 10, 20, 40, sets.
They don't go into inv either. ._.

You have to have a permit Gaga gives you to keep your counter going, if it expires you go through a "botcheck collect 100 reset your counter" thing.
