The question's whether this is true or not. Has anyone from Nexon stated that this is an error in the game? Obviously, it might be an error. That is just as obvious as the fact that it may be intended as well.

@Stereo: Well, Paladins are a special case. The numbers pretty much just say they suck. They actually need a damage improvement while the other classes are already pretty good and just lack the maps and bosses they need to shine.

There are also a few business motives behind this.
The original place where skills get developed has a very different setting to GMS. A fast(0) NL is very different to a fast(2) NL. What considered "balanced" there isnt the case in GMS due to the settings. So to fill NL's ego, they need to stay on apples. Apples require you to be married (or others to be married to sell apples).

/facepalm.
I get really, REALLY tired of all these cynical views of Nexon. It seems like in every thread talking about a glitch, an exploit, or anything unfair in the game somebody says "That won't get fixed cuz nexon'll lose money"
Here's what would happen. If they removed the speed cap, then NLs would get a damage boost, sure, but since a majority of GMS only cares about big numbers, apples would still stay at the same price, because even though NLs will have better damage they will always want more.

Lets say you're right, there's no business losses, so why not fix it then? Surely they spent alot more time preventing hacking from exploiting their cap.
Anyhow, removing the speed cap would likely to make certain mediocre bosses like Pap apple-less comfortably. Zak/HT would die faster (less total apple usage). While the demand is still there, the pricing should drop. That's a blow to the incentive of apq-ers.

Pfft, I don't use apples on Pap and I do fine. In fact, only place I apple is CWKPQ, and maybe Zakum soon (max stance + apple + PA Fury + Zerk + arms = win, considering I can hit the bottom 4 at the same time).

I think GMS players are just too used to/spoiled by Apples. There aren't any bosses where you really need Apples. Hell, the only boss where Apples are even worth it financially is HT (disregarding things like reduced run time and better success rate). Your average two party Zakum run runs in 20-25 minutes and I doubt anyone uses even 500 pots. A single Apple costs more than that. Without Apples it might take another 10-15 minutes.
And lol, why would you Apple on Pap unless you're trying to kill it at a low level or you're going for a speed run? Even Mr. PA DrK up there says he doesn't use Apples.

i gotta say apples are financially worth it for cwkpq. selling 1 mark pays for the apples, and that isnt even counting bonus where everyone makes more than their pot money back.

Yeah, if you give a couple Heroes apples, then the Bowman is much less of a pain. He's the only one who really costs pots. I can get away with 0 pots for Margana, Nirg, and Hsalf on my NL... I bring 100 Cheese for Rellik and use 20-30 if the melee classes did decently.

You disregarded what I said. Half of GMS's community are damage whores who like to see big numbers. Apples do that, but faster attacks don't. People in GMS are already addicted to apples. Faster attacks won't change that. Also, as Russt said, diamonds, which are common from APQ as well, will inflate in price at least after Maker first comes out, making those worth buying.

The original purpose of this thread is the speed cap at 2 in GMS, which many believed was due to speed hackers in beta. IMO, these cap should be lifted, but I think NexAm is inclined to do so, because they believed the game is "balanced" with respect to the available items.
IMO, apples are being used nowaday for bossings mostly. There isnt really much incentive in training with apples (minus a few exceptions). You can see that bosses has "many forms" and the amount of HP they have is just crazy. It's either you 1hko or you dont vs how much damages you can dish out to grind the battle. The single most difficult thing in a boss fight is lag. Apples cut down the time spent at bosses thus minimise the lag issue. Otherwise, I am more than happy to see idiots wasting apples at HHG doing 5 digits to snails. So yes, people will still use apples, yes they're spoiled by apples, but I personally dont think it should be one of the factors for not removing the speed cap.
As for diamonds in APQ, I think it's grossly overrated. Why? there're already a HUGE amount of diamonds stocked up. If anything, you're likely to make a level 110+ weapon (or more realistically level 120) which requires time pieces. Do you seriously believe that there're more 45x time pieces (approximately) than high grade diamonds? I am holding my breath on crystals and time pieces to be inflated over diamonds. Many has already have hundreds of them, and some even have thousands.
