How do level 120 items level?
#1
How is exp gained on level 120 weapons so that they can level? I couldn't find anything specific after searching, but it might just be because I'm tired.

HALP.

I do believe they gain exp as you gain exp. Meaning, you have to kill monsters with that weapon/armor equipped so it will level.

Curious what the exp tables are for them though. Getting appx 7m an hour solo Skeles means I may be spending a LONG time getting my gear leveled. Will be pissed at leechers power-leveling their gear too...

Oh, and as for leveling non-class gear (aka a Sword by a DrK, a Claw by a Shad), simplest solution (non-leech) is to go kill Pap/Pianus/Zak and switch weapons at the very end.

Isaac has been telling me, "One skill usage = 1 exp point". So it's very fast leveling.

That would be worthless for Timeless/Reverse weapons/armor though since they become untradable as soon as you equip them.

Lol, I'd just spam Rush in the FM then (for PA/Spear), and Power Strike for other warrior weapons. Armor = buffs I suppose? Spam Dragon Blood (Fastest buff I have) Big Grin

For Pirate gear, even easier - Rapid Fire Big Grin

However, reporting from Shikage was that it took him about 2/3 of a level to get his Reverse to Max. So Hurt

@ Above, Karma. I'm sure a 140+ sword would be worth karma'ing, esp if the buyer doesn't have to level it themself.

Ah, okay. I read that somewhere but nobody else confirmed or refuted. Thanks for the info.

I don't think that's true. O_o It took me approximately 40 - 50% per character level for each level up on my Reverse Knuckle.

Well look at it this way, "One skill usage = 135431854 exp point" and it could still take you 40 - 50% per character level for each level up on your Reverse Knuckle.

What if the EXP gain on Reverse/Timeless equips are based on using a certain skill?

Lets take the knuckle for example. It has a chance of giving +1 to skillID 5121007 at MAX level according to Fiel's thread which is Barrage I believe? What if you would only gain EXP for the knuckle when you use Barrage?

It's seems like a much more valid explanation to the idea of 1 EXP point per skill usage.

You realise how fast a Timeless Bow would level then?

Wait. Must the skill actually hit a monster, or you could just spam it? It would be pretty pointless if the latter were true Tongue

I really don't know much about leveling up - merely reporting what Isaac has said countless times to me. Might wanna check up with him.

Maybe it's 1 skill, with a time limit between gaining exp or something. If you could only gain an exp point every 10 minutes, that would make a levelup about 12 hours of playing.

I don't think so. 1% on my knuckle was about .33% of my character's level at level 1.

Jake [skylit] told me in jms, approx 1 training session fully leveled up his or dennis [whoever plays jms here, tkwizard and co] reverse weapon. So maybe a few hours?

O_o I'm the only one in the English community that has a Reverse equip. lol It wasn't a single training session. It was about 33% - 40% per character level for each level up on the Knuckle. It's still pretty fast, however.
