Besides, you can get as many Maple Earrings as you want, if you drop/boom them.

It would have been easy enough for them to implement a "Lost Maple Cape" quest, just as they do for a lot of other quest items in-game.

Well for me, I assumed that since you can get Maple Earrings again, I thought that this was the same for Maple Capes. I got 3 of the scrolls to work before the 5th one broke it....

You might want to spend your Scissors on better things - in MSEA they cost 12,000 @-cash. One card that costs $10 gives 10,000 @-cash, so you can see how pineappling expensive it is.
