Dilemma :X
#1
Hey guys. :]
As a break from my Gunslinger, i want to make a Brawler Shine. Their playing style is different, i can lend equips from my GS and so on.

But lately, Strikers have been catching my eye.
I am now unsure if i want to make a Striker or a regular Brawler Eek
The main thing i am worrying about is that i will enjoy the Striker so much that leveling will be a breeze, and when i reach 120 i would feel like i could level alot more. Frown
But on the other hand, i know it is alot harder to level to 120 than i think, but i can't seem so convince myself that its hard to get there Tongue

The other thing is that i want that attack boost from a Cygnus to my GS, but i heard that KMS changed it so all characters are linked? Meaning i can get a level 10 Cygnus, then make a Brawler. The Brawler will now give my main an attack boost.
I think it was Fiel or Isaac who explained it

So, pros and cons of making a Brawler and a Striker:

Brawler

Pros
- Much better end game.
- Better bossing options.
Cons
-Harder to level. (need confirmation on that one)
-Less skills earlier

Striker

Pros
- Stronger earlier.
- More skills earlier.
- Faster leveling (need confirmation on that one)
Cons
- Bad bossing capabilities
- Low level end game

I am leaning against Striker, but yea...i am very unsure. I do love bossing Frown
Halp! Eek

Strikers can boss if you get them hp gear or hp washing. They have more ap than a regular level 120 at 120, so they're not uber weak or anything. They'd need extremely good gear too. After that, ht is probably something they could do as sed mule or back-up attacker. You can't do pb unless they lower the level limits of those quests, and even if you could, you'd be an observer or necklace buyer.

They can boss, just not as well, and you should really work at it in order to do lots of the higher end content.

They're basically the "easy mode" of ms, yes. Their original use was to give your main an extra atk boost based on it's level, but now you can do that with mostly any character.

If you want it to be your main character pick a Brawler. Knights of Cygnus as a main character is a joke. Tongue

Cygnus can't HT ever. The level difference is too big and none of the cygnus come close to being as good as a shadower for SED. I was missing HT on mrlifestyles at early 13x. Missing a lot....

If you're in kms, it's like 1/100000 chance that you'll even get past 70, much less 120, so striker is a good choice. If you're in gms and just waiting for cygnus, then yea, brawler.

Thats the thing. I do not know if i will enjoy it so much that i will level easily with it.

And yes, im in Gms waiting for Cygnus.

It's not coming soon.
If you make a brawler now, keep all the equips, and you can use them for your striker when/if it comes to gms.

I wouldn't say any class in Maple is inherently "hard" at this point. Even a BW paladin leveling right now with up-to-date gear levels faster than a pre-4th job, pre-2x card Sader. And having played a bishop to 160, I can't really say it was "hard" at all, just really repetitive and tedious.

Maple is hard if you play it "free." If you throw money at it, it's just a matter of patience to get to 200 with any class.

It's not even hard playing it for free. I haven't spent a cent on maple in like 3 and a half years and I could've been a way higher lvl hadn't I playd like 8 characters... It's just a matter of prioritising. I just don't get satisfaction out of training 8~12hours a day on 2x (4x now with party rep) and grind to 200. That's just not how I play the game. But for someone who does leveling is easy, spending money on nx or not, cus now with MTS that's not even a point anymore anyway. XD
