First, sorry if this is in the wrong section. I didn't know where to put it.
Second, what if GMS decided not to use Cygnus, but instead, let you become a Knight of Crimsonheart? I find that interesting... Let's list the pros and cons.
Cygnus
Contributes a lot to the base of Maple's Story, dealing with the Black Magician. KMS already constructed this, and other versions are getting it too. Presumeably linked to the Aran, so if GMS were to use the Knights of Crimsonheart, they may have trouble fitting the Aran in. Also, GMS already has Cygnus and Ereb in the data, but I'd assume they can easily remove it.
Crimsonheart
GMS already has adventurer equivalents built: The Stormcaster (Warrior), Flamekeeper (Magician), Windreaver (Archer), and Shadowknight (Thief). For Pirates, they seem to have built in a Pirate in the past of Crimsonwood Keep. I forget his name but it was like Silverfist Jack or something... The CWKPQ even has Grandmasters who could possibly make the job advancement for you if they chose to use Crimsonheart: Rafael (Magician), Lokewood (Archer), and Ryo (Thief). I haven't heard of any warrior yet*. This could probably be easily implemented by NEXON using a new area, e.g. The Past of Crimsonwood Keep, The Isle of Vigilance, or some other area we haven't even heard of yet, greatly adding to the Masterian storyline.
So, what are your opinions?
*All of the information I got was from reading IsaacGS's Masteria Expansions, Names, and the proof for each. This means that if I didn't see that info in the thread, I won't know about it (like about the Warrior Grandmaster)

Interesting idea, I've never thought of it before.
However, I kind of doubt that gMS will go so far as to change where the Cygnus class starts, although I wouldn't mind if they did implement those classes, if they somehow kept them from being overly redundant.

Depends on the skills the Knights of Crimsonheart have, really. And knowing Nexon's programming skills XD.

I've considered that. The best I can come up with is that everything will be the same, except they'll probably just switch Pirate and Warrior around, just so they won't leave the Pirates out.
What would they be called, then? ... Soul Fighters? Blech...

They wouldn't change something that's integral to KMS's plans so radically. Besides that, the only living practicioner of these skills is Lukan so that really leaves a lot of problems.

That can be fixed by bring more of his kind from the past or going to the past itself.

It would be amazing if they did. GMS exclusive class = win. But, the odds of something like that happening don't really seem high. I'd gladly put off the real KoC for months if it meant getting something like this.

On its own? I'd love to see Crimsonwood classes, but as a replacement for Cygnus, no way.

I think we have enough classes coming our way. We don't really need Crimsonwood classes.

You can never have enough. Plus GMS has pretty much set it up to the point where they could take this idea and run with it.

who said they have to be replacements?. We have a race screen to choose between Cygnus and adventurer, so why not just put a Masterians race in that screen?
I agree with Isaac it would suck if they replaced Knight of Cygnus, but they don't have to. We could go to the past through the Chamber in Helios tower (as we go to ellin) and mety the old grandmasters and Christopher himself.

A lazy way to go around this (I'll probably get stoned if it happens): The Knights of Cynus becomes Knights of Cimsonheart, except they merely made aesthetic differences, including name changes to the class and skills. Bam, gMS equivalent.

Just to point out that this thread is just like that whole thing a while back where people were saying that you would get your 4th job in NLC.

If GMS would get their own exclusive class, it would be a leech mage:
- 1000% range, all sides
- 199.999 damage per target
- 50 targets per attack
- 10.000 MP per usage...
- New Holy Symbol buff for partying that gives double exp when used combined with CS 2x exp card
End of class... And it would be a great succes too...
Leechers... :')

./equip flame shield +5 This is somewhat what I was thinking, they could change all names but make them be exactly as cygnuss.... buuut with other names :B

Sorry for not being that clear. I mean this in the way that Crimsonheart may lazily replace Cygnus as IllegallySane said, but I think the chances of this are pretty low because it will leave a big huge giant hole in the MS storyline. But I also don't think GMS would make this along WITH Cygnus, because they're just too alike. But, I don't think GMS would just make this up for the sole purpose of NPC and monsters. They went too far in depth for me to consider against having players be able to experience these guilds.
I'm really confused about this; I'm just pointing out a possibility that I found interesting. But let's just see what NEXON does.

You know, if Nexon put enough thought into it, they could probably realize that their Masterian guilds could become a secondary class. Basically you have your Adventurer/Cygnus class and then you could just go to Crimsonwood (past maybe) and talk to someone and become an honorary member of a particular guild and you get new skills depending on which guild you choose and you can get points through quests, etc. Just a thought to put the masterian class idea into a usable perspective without overloading the game with different classes.

I could see them doing NLC classes. I think they'd make for an interesting new mix, I just don't know how likely it is due to KMS possibly starting up a 3rd group of classes with Aran. After a certain point I think it becomes hard to come up with new and original ideas for classes and skills.
The other type of class I could see popping up would be a Ninja based one. Yes, the thieves class already takes up some of it, but I think you could make it work. Set it up as an offshoot of the thief class where you can use both stars and daggers. Something along the lines of a sindit perhaps. Rather than a shield though, they have a claw equip and a dagger equip slot. On the downside for them, they don't get an atk shield. On the upside, they can use long range attacks. Perhaps even have skills that utilize both. Something like the recoil shot, where they attack with their dagger, then jump backwards throwing stars. I have my doubts about them doing something like this, but the possibility remains available ever since KMS did some new classes and GMS introduced the idea of guilds that have combined classes.

You're all forgetting one vital thing:
Nexon America is the laziest company in the world and creating new classes takes EFFORT.
Not a chance.

IDK about Knights of Crimsonheart, but Knights of Crimsonwood would work better.
Also, it would be VERY interesting to see a GMS class branch made from masteria, since it is probably planned to be almost as big as Vic. Also, the class mixing that the Crimsonwood factions use would make for awesome job types. Stormcasters alone are a mix of mages and warriors, can anyone say STR/INT builds?
Just the idea may have already been thrown around, so who knows what may come.
