 Cleaned out all 19 ch's of Faust last night out of pure boredom....this is what I had to show for my efforts

Cool, I wish you luck. I never did any of those AP things while I was in HS. No one does around here. Advice? Hmm... Things I've learned:

1) Books are a lie. No matter how much a professor (or anyone) tells you you'll need a book for a class, THEY'RE LYING. I was tricked into buying so many books I never once opened and still got an A or B in the class. Professors stress how important they are, how much they're going to work them into the class, blah blah BLAH. They're lying just to get you to spend money! Out of all my classes in two semesters, I only needed to use TWO different books. I'm serious. I've learned my lesson now. I'm sure colleges vary with this, but be warned!

2) Advisors are awesome people. Stay in contact them with. Seriously. They are SO helpful. I mean, yeah my college rocks, but if you get an advisor anything like I did, you're gonna be set if you talk with him/her a few times (or more). Mine made sure I was always getting into awesome classes and made sure I was going perfectly down my path to my desired degree. She also got me prepped for the PPST this summer, which is a test necessary for my future plans. I would have been lost without her.

3) Common sense stuff. Skipping classes is fun, but be smart about it. Grades are insanely important because classes are much shorter and have far fewer grades than HS classes (one of my classes literally had only three graded assignments). You know, the stuff everyone always preaches entering college students about. Study! Go to class! Nag nag nag. lol

What are you going to be majoring in?

A lot of my friends have told me the same regarding advisers, saying they really do a great job setting you on the right path and that you need to make use of them. So thanks! And I apologize I haven't posted lately; end-of-the-year Senior stuff going on. Just got back from a Class of 2009 beach party, and then have a pre-Commencement thing tonight. Tomorrow, of course, is the big day ALL day, so XP.

I'm majoring in Molecular Biology with a double major or minor in English; I haven't decided yet. It's hard because I really love both subjects, yet I don't know if I want to be working in a lab for 10 hours a day, if I want to be working as a high school English teacher, or whatnot. At the same time, I don't want to miss out on college because I can't figure out exactly what future career path I want, but then again it sounds like that's what college is in the end: figuring out what you want to do with your life. Do you feel like, already after 1 year of college, you're starting to figure out exactly what you want to do and what you need to do to get there, or are there any recommendations you could give to help me (and others!) figure that out from the get-go?

Lol, yeah... one of my profs took assignment questions out of the textbook (and didn't teach how to do them, meaning read the textbook) and similar things are the only reason I had to buy books.

I stopped buying books before class starts, now I wait until they become obviously necessary (in one case 1 1/2 months into term I picked one up used)

Yeah, I had thought I learned my lesson after the first semester too. Apparently it took two semesters for me to fully realize they're scamming me. They must be told to flat out LIE to the students to get them to buy books. A few of my professors emphasized how much they'd be using the book, what for, how'd it be helpful, yada yada. All turned out to be lies. Really pissed me off for a while, but now I know no matter what, I'm not buying books.

My sister's HS graduation is coming up very soon, as well. I remember the craziness and excitement. I hope it's a lot of fun for you. My graduation was one of the best day's of my life.

Honestly, I've known what I want to do since I was a Junior in HS. After one year of college, my plans didn't change at all. I'm looking forward to it all the same. I'm majoring in English education (secondary), by the way. HS English teacher! I guess I'm lucky in that regard. College really is a lot more fun when you go into it knowing what you want to do. You can get by the first year with just generals, but things will start to get messy if you don't decide on something by your second year. My best friend is having a helluva time because he has absolutely no idea what he wants to do. It's good knowing because you can start some major-related classes your first year and learn exactly what you need to do to achieve the goal. I already know every single class I can or need to take, and I'm looking forward to tons of them.

I guess what I'm saying is I definitely recommend deciding on something before starting. You can always change your mind, of course, but I think it's a lot better to have a declared major rather than nothing. Sit down and give it some good, solid thought. What do you want to do? Would you be happy in that career? In your case, which do you like more? Can you handle doing both? Anything else you've considered? Again, talking with your advisor can really help with this. I learned a lot about what it takes to become a teacher from her--things I never knew. Learning things like that can either change your mind or give you something more to look forward to.

One area boss pic.....

 Got King Clang?

During these last 2 days of (area) boss hunting for the hell of it, I got a good collection of scrolls off those bosses, especially King Clang, Faust, Stumpy, and Dyle. Yesterday's hunting was a productive day, nabbing Shoe Jump 60% & Claw ATT 60% off King Clang, Shield DEF 60% from Faust (lol), and PA 60% from Dyle.

Today was 18/19 for King Clang (Cape LUK 60%) and 9 Faust (nada). Did a few stumpies, but nothing showed up except for 2 Sap of Ancient Trees.

Kinda feeling great about this. xD

Well, I don't know how long it takes to fight Pianus. I had to get my card from Tienk in about 10 minutes from the point that it was suggested, and then I had to use the buff, which was another 15 minutes. So unless it would've taken him another half an hour, then I don't think so.

Trust me. If I thought I could have, I would have been there in a heartbeat. I want to get rid of these items more than you know.

Close call I guess =/ It took him half an hour to down 50% of it.

Anyways, fishing takes a variable amount of time, mainly because sometimes it spams super defs. Soloing is roughly half an hour for someone like me, give or take 10 minutes. An hour total if the fish is absolutely stubborn.

That makes me feel better about soloing the left one in 70 minutes a while ago... he wdeffed up on literally the 2nd or 3rd last hit to kill, and i'd guess 20-30 times total.

Felt like dragon slaying today, and I apparently chose a good time to do so. lol

Pianus :


Took 30 minutes total, I was watching a movie and zoned out from MS and accidentally forgot to pot, so I died about 70% of the way through. Total fight, including time spent walking back and peaching to my blist about me dying was exactly 30 minutes. Blast is level one still, so I used ACB..

Papulatus :


Second pap solo, just was bored. Took 46 minutes, 30 seconds. First half of the fight took 30 minutes, then he started actually staying out of his shell for more then 10 hits.

Pianus Solo 9:

Pianus is like the opposite of Pap for me, for the last few solos I've always gotten an SE book. Funny thing is, I always get the one that's the cheapest at the time: when SE30 was cheap due to SE20's being scarce, I get SE30. Now that SE30 is more expensive than SE20, I get SE20's. Not like I'm complaining or anything, but it's just one of those things where you're like "oh, darn, not again..."

Finally got another friggin' pair of Blue Neos Pants. Managed to get both SE20 and SE30 swag to boot.
