Talk to Nexon about Elemental Wands/Staves

So sorry, I thought the loss was 15%. Even doing calculations at 25% loss, my damage will be about the same, but I will be holding onto my Shine Wand, just in case. Wink

Go and look at the calculations I added - I think you're mistaken to a degree you'd find shocking.

I remember the arguements about why we didn't need these weapons, and they were made by someone in this thread who was the first person to semi-change my mind. But I still think it's more valid than not to disallow bishops to use these. And even saying this, I find your TOS quote wrong because there is 0% evidence that this was an error or bug, since nexon has tip-toed around this issue and downright ignored it in the hopes that it would just go away. I think they either knew exactly what they were doing and don't wanna change it, or they made an initial mistake and then realized it was a good idea in terms of making people gach the hell out of them. It sucks, but this is what they do all the time. A lot of things seem bad to use, but actually help them in ways people don't want to accept.

That's 100% evidence that either the string is wrong, or that the multiplier is wrong.

Thank you for the flavouring. Biggrin After SC, I am going to go check some numbers with both wands. If you don't mind, perhaps I could PM them to you, and you can flavour them for me. Biggrin I have only been looking at the damage I am doing.

Insert next person to point out that "Ours don't say that!" [yet]

We're getting very circular here. :/

Wow, another useless thread on the Element Weapons. Just give up already, I don't really think many people actually care whether they're fixed or not anyway. They don't really benefit Bishops all that much since we all just 1hit skeles anyway without them.

Magus Wrote:Because it's really fair that Bishops buy all the staffs/wands with all the money they've made from leech, causing them to inflate to the point that the class they where intended for cannot afford them. FFS, I met one bishop on my server who was COLLECTING them and used a different color each day.

There is no reason that Bishops should be able to use these without a penalty, and the only people who think otherwise are the Bishops.

(Also, it should be noted that at the same time the only people who think that Genesis should be left the way it is are Bishops as well.)

Go make mesos if you want one so badly, it's so easy now. You complain a lot but have you yourself really tried making mesos? Did you try selling leech? Even though the pay isn't comparable to a bishops, it's still very good. There's also merchanting and the recent release of the Gachapon boxes should have gotten you quite a lot of mesos (and I heard they can give you Ewands too).

As for the bishop collecting wands, maybe he just finds the Arch Mages' complaining to be quite laughable and does it to see you guys complaining more. Honestly, it is rather funny to see (especially this 35 page thread on Sleepywood with my friend arguing with godofturtles). Anyway, he deserves to buy all those wands since he actually earned the meso with hard work.

You're welcome to send them to me for a comparison.

The key thing to think of is a 25% reduction isn't just a difference between the mattack of your weapon - It's 25% reduction to the mattack of the skill itself, and to your total int & magic. Unless you've got a maple shine wand lying around that makes up a quarter of your total magic, that 25% loss is huuuuuuge.

Well yes. But in the end it points all back to Nexon not implementing them correctly, and then ignoring our pleas for clarity completely.

I really can't believe the number of people who honestly subscribe to the "Nexon intended it to be this way" theory when Nexon admitted to having had it wrong initially. Tongue

Oh look -Hime- is in the forum replying to other things right now.
Lets all watch in rapt silence to see if she ignores it, or just closes it without comment.

draconius Wrote:And you know how many bishops end up collecting them vs. how many Archmages have BOTH ele wands for their class (thus forcing bishops to buy whichever wand they find, be it 6, 8, or 5, and 7)? If I had a penny for each time I saw a bishop do what you said they did, I'd be dirt poor. It's pretty sad to think that you're arguing this solely on the idea that the weapon is "designed" for one class and thus should be able to be PURCHASED by them solely. I suppose it should be illegal for me to ever consider keeping claws, daggers, guns, or swords in my inventory for a prolonged period of time because I should have to sell them to their "rightful" classes. Trying out socialism in an MMORPG? Maybe another day comrade Goggleemoticon

I like how you've pretty much nailed all the stereotypes about bishops together. Before another thread on Sleepy closed, the OP (of this thread) made the hypocritical declaration that bishops have been pampered and that archmages "barely" outdamage them on neutral monsters. Funny how a calculator shows that max AMPed archmage ultimate exceeds maxed Genesis by 128 base dmg, and that maxed Genesis on Skeles does 1005 to an Archmage's 997.5 w/ ele wand. Archmages almost outdamaging Bishops on a monster bishops are supposed to be GOOD at? NO, they ought to zip right past them! *Wonders if SP has a restriction on starting a 30page "discussion" on Genesis*

The point being is that Nexon may well find it in their best interests to keep this thing under wraps. If it was a mistake, then it would be a beneficial mistake, at least from the business model. Archmages will complain, and they might actually complain a bunch, but the number of archmages that will actually quit because of this is far insignificant to the number of bishops that will and the thousands of gach tickets that won't be purchased once the most expensive weapons in the game deflate. It's a lose-lose situation for Nexon to admit error or validate the status quo, and quite frankly, the sky hasn't fallen on us yet and the current system works. The vast majority of people that are complaining are the ones that think this will benefit them, and this population by far will be majorly disappointed if they consider this course of action a save-all and bishops with ele wands a scapegoat.

Oh, nice strawman argument.
Also, no. We do not have a restriction on that kind of thing unless the topic gets out of hand, or you start it with the soul intention of trolling. (Much like your post.)

Is that a pic from our version? I thought ours were not named, because if that is from another version why does that hurt my point? I've been gone two months, so if they did change the description I retract my post.

godofturtles Wrote:Is that a pic from our version? I thought ours were not named, because if that is from another version why does that hurt my point?

Because it's from the version that our functionality & content is evolving towards.
The versions are not functionality distinct for the most part. Most of the versions are nothing more than content-diverse with all of them being functionally behind the original that we're all based off.

Except where specifically stated otherwise by Nexon America, our functionality mirrors KMS or one day will. These were not installed with intent to be different. They occupy the same slots, have the same attributes and show absolutely no sign of having been intended to be anything other than what we've assumed they were.

If they imported timeless weapons with extra 0's at the end of thier wattack and mattack noone would be screaming that taking it out was unfair and that it was obviously intended to be that way, why is them having accidentally left the penalty off of these suddenly Divine Foresight and Deep Planning?

The real names were not implemented in GMS. Instead, we got "Elemental Wand #" and no item description. That's why it's a bit of a hot issue.

Fiel Wrote:The real names were not implemented in GMS. Instead, we got "Elemental Wand #" and no item description.

I strongly suspect that's because we either imported a beta version from one of the repositories, or because Nexon America realized they could make a fortune importing them but did it spur of the moment without bother to do any translating, so we got a really generic toy they hadn't remotely researched and didn't work because Maple isn't plug n play.

Well, this is definitely progress compared to them closing any ticket they get.

Edit* Unless of course Raven just said that to shut me and up and "filed" it in the garbage bin rather than actually doing what was said. :/
