I made this mostly for myself, but at the request of a friend, I decided to share it with all my fellow Corsairs.

This calculator isn't just about DPS; it's about learning more about exactly what damage you'd do to monsters and how buffs/upgrades can affect your character. It's just general knowledge for everything about your character and the monster you're fighting. The equipment tab has a section where you can enter in all your equipment and your HP/MP and how much you can wash, for example.
I should note that this calculator was intended for Corsairs. I have now modified it to include Ice Splitter and Flamethrower, as well as fixed the HP/MP tables so that they'll work just fine if your level is under 120. So yeah, this calculator is for Outlaws too. Hell, I even made Burst Fire turn into Double Shot if you put the skill level at 0. So if for some reason you want to see your DPS before level 70, go for it.
I have recently "acquired" Excel and converted it to work perfectly in Excel myself. It should work perfectly in Excel now!
New to version 1.4 is my Hits to Kill calculator!
Quite possibly the most useful thing I've ever created. It shows your exact % chance to xHKO a monster with whatever HP/Defense you input. Since I don't know any stats, I did this entirely with Algebra! Sadly, it does not yet work with SE. I don't quite have the statistical know-how to figure that out quite yet. If there's anyone who has passed Stats that wishes to help me, feel free to PM me. Anyway, I'm very proud of this and I hope you find it useful.
If you have any comments, compliments, constructive criticism, or suggestions, feel free to voice them.
Notes:
-The entire document is now protected with no password. Go ahead and unprotect it if you want to do something.
-All of the gray areas in the Data and Equips tabs aren't protected. You can play with that space as you see fit.
Version update history

-Updated the hits to kill section to provide more information
-Added an Echo of the Hero checkbox
-Added a speed (and DoT) for Octopus (subject to change)
-Added a slot for Rings in the Equips tab
Updates for v1.4:
-Added a Hits to Kill Calculator. Check the Hits to Kill tab to view it!
-Fixed Octopus' attack speed
-Fixed Echo damage calculation (rounding issues)
-Changed the "Average Hits to KO" section to reference the "Hits to Kill" tab
-Added Elemental Affinity for Ice Splitter and Flamethrower
-The "Points Washable" cell in the HP/MP section now has the option of showing decimals

-Renamed "Homing" to "Bullseye"
v1.41:
-Improved the Hits to Kill formula

Updates for v1.5:
-Now updated for Excel! I remade it myself in Excel 2007, so it should work and look great in Excel now
-Added delay, cast time, and efficiency to the Octopus section
-Made Bullseye work for Octopus' damage, and added the ability to turn it off separately from Bullseye
-Added a "DPS for Octopus" section. It says your DPS if you were to cast Octopus every time it cools down
-Updated the Dex/Attack ratio to be more accurate
Updates for v2.0:
-Dropped support for Open Office. If you really want me to make it for Open Office again, PM me and I'll figure something out
-Added a level section for monsters. Damage now scales down if your level is below the monster's level
-Added a Maple Warrior checkbox so you can turn off MW without changing the level every time
-Added a Ring Selection (for the Adventurer rings) in the equipment section
-Added a Critical section to the front page
-Moved the HP and MP section to it's own new page
-Updated the equipment section with +% stats, made them work properly (or what I currently believe to be properly) in the general information section, and tried to make everything on the equipment page readable in spite of these new additions
-Updated for the Adventurer updates: Skill damage and Battleship HP
-Removed the Data page and hid its information elsewhere. Y'all don't need to look at that anyway
v2.01
-Fixed the misdirected cells in the HP/MP section
Updates for v2.1:
-Updated the Battleship HP formula to the correct current formula
-Updated the +% equips formula to the correct current formula
To come next version:
-Better Battleship formula once we find out exactly what it is. I just estimated for this version.
-A massive (massive!) upgrade to the HP/MP section is planned. I haven't started on it yet, but be sure that it will come.
Russt Wrote:Looks nice. But it's saying that it contains references to some other file? and returns me a bunch of Err: 529 cells.
Mind telling me where those are? I keep getting that "references to other file" too, but I can't figure out where the cells are that reference other files.
Russt Wrote:Oh, and sorry to be a bit of an ass here... but B> legit formula. HP/damage != average hits to kill.

Imaginary case:
HP 30k. Damage 20k to 40k, average 30k. See what's wrong?

Yeah, I see what's wrong. I don't really know how to approach that mathematically, though. I kinda failed stats. If you think of it as 1 +/- x, it kinda works. It could then take .66 hits to kill, or 1.5 hits to kill. Anything over 1 hit is technically 2 hits.
And I can't figure out how to deal with that Error 529, because I'm not getting it. Whatever that file is that it's referencing, I have it (even though I deleted all my .ods files just a bit ago), so I can't tell if I fixed the problem or not. It's really annoying... I'ma play with it some more. Hopefully I can have it working soon.
EDIT: Okay, I might have fixed the error you keep getting. Download it again and tell me what happens. Also, if it asks about links to other files, tell me and click yes.

I don't understand why this is happening. Not only do I not see where this mysterious "link to another file" is happening, but also the calculator worked just fine for another friend of mine. I don't suppose anyone skilled with spreadsheets could give me a hand?
Hey Kaida, I fixed your calculator. It may work for you, but currently, as it is, your calculator can't account for Maple Warrior/Homing being level 0. I fixed this by adding a level 0 row, and compensating the skill lookup for that. I also rounded your average hits to to kill.

Okay, I fixed it and put it in the first post. If it doesn't work for anyone, redownload it and it should. (Sidenote: is INT() not a function in Excel? If so, what should I use that does the same thing?)
However, I undid the rounding of the hits to kill. While I agree that it's not a great estimate for small numbers of hits to kill unless you understand that it has an invisable +/-, rounding it doesn't make it any more clear. Seeing that it takes an average of 5.14 hits to kill a monster can tell you that you're close to killing it in 5 hits half the time. If you just trunc that to 6, all it makes is ambiguity.
Clicking Sharp Eyes gives some sort of error and shuts down excel.
I'm pretty sure that's my computer but i'll look into it later on this week.
I never really use Excel so who knows...

Does that happen with Speed Infusion and Homing as well?

No it doesn't, but it's fixed now.
Had to remove and install excel twice.
God knows what caused this, but it works on my laptop now.
It works fine on my normal computers.
