I'm not going to discuss this with you because I am tired of it.

This post is to tell you that I am an American, even if I was not born in the United States. I was born in the Dominican Republic, which is part of Latin America, which makes me an American, too.

Your sementical argument is flawed and fail Pavo.
American is not the demonym your culture uses to identify yourself, you're a Dominican. A resident of Mexico is a Mexican, a resident of Canada is a Canadian, et al. The only specific country that uses the term American by itself as a noun is for a citizen of the United States of America, because there is no other country in the Americas that actually has the name "America" in it.
