Summer Plans.
#1
Simple question, what do you plan to do over your summer vacation during the summer (because you guys are old :<)?

Aside from playing video games and watching anime, I plan to do at least two of the following:

- Get a job to earn money, then go travel somewhere nice.
- Take a summer class to get ahead of everyone else.
- Be a lazy fuck.

I am pretty sure that I can achieve the last one.

Get a job and play Maple... Aside from that, nothing, really. All of my friends and family moved away, so I'm just here with only my dad. Once I save up enough money, though, I'm going to Japan to see about my future there.

- Take the PPST this July to keep on track with my English teaching degree
- Continue to be depressed because I probably won't be working this summer (ugh)
- Anime/games/internet in unhealthy doses, as always
- ...
- No idea

Man. This economy garbage is really messing with my life plans. It would have worked out so perfectly, but now I can't get the Summer job back I've had the last few years. They had to lay off of their part-timers and even their full-timers are getting savagely reduced hours. And this tiny town really has nothing else to offer...

Lazy Summer is looking to be guaranteed at this point. I just hope it doesn't screw up my college plans too much. I know I'm at least good for another year, money-wise. But still, it blows.

I've already been on Summer break since last week.

In no particular order...

- work
- take a trip to San Diego (where my fiance will be running in the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon)
- Maple
- possibly take a summer course... still haven't decided if I want to work full-time and earn some extra money or get ahead on my studies
- try to go to one of the Giants/Braves games (the fiance is a Braves fan... Goggleemoticon)

Working in a tourist trap has it's advantages... summer is our busy season so people are hiring all over the place, plus I can get whatever hours I want since I'm a supervisor. Our company actually opened two new stores in the past three months since this economy garbage isn't hitting us nearly as hard... huzzah for European tourists taking advantage of the exchange rate.

I'm 20 and I haven't had a vacation since I was 15. I've worked since I was 15 and the only time I haven't had a job is when I got laid off and didn't have a job for 3 weeks. The college i'm going to (ECPi college of technology) has a very speedy college program to get your bachelors in 2 years, but the way they accomplish that is by having as many courses in the shortest time possible. Basically.... I'm going to school 4 days a week, 4 and a half hours each day, and the only time off is 5 days out of the entire year. Even on the days off, they make it up by making us come to school on saturday. Grueling but that's the only way to get through college quickly. I prefer it this way since the longer college is dragged out, the more you eventually end up paying and the more you can end up forgetting.

tl;dr
I'm gonna work and school through this summer and the next 2 years.
