If you have their card, it brings up their monster book page!

I think this is fairly old.

Also, I'm fairly sure you don't have to have the card for this to happen.

I can just see the potential disaster in it for people using laptops and touchpad... If your hands were on the keyboard and you were bossing/ training, it would be possible to knock the touchpad and double click on a monster. If you weren't expecting it, definite chance of death.

I'm very careful about where I have certain stuff on my keyboard layout for reasons like that. Maple Messenger isn't even on there. And world map/ monster book are well out of the way.

Kinda random what I just said, but I'd be curious to hear if anybody has had any close calls with what I described in my first paragraph Tongue

I was in Slime Tree on my magician and I was low in health. I forgot to put my HP pots on a hotkey (long story >_<), so I went to double click one to use it and accidentally clicked a slime and opened the monster book. I lagged and died. Only level 15ish so it didn't matter much, but still... Yes, I have a laptop.

I use a USB mouse, and have my touchpad disabled. Win for me?

Yeah, I do that too.

My old laptop had a really bad touchpad, and I tried to click something in my Use inventory, and it decided to move the cursor to the side suddenly, and got my gelt chocolate. I started using a USB mouse for pretty much everything after that Tongue

This way you can quickly check if a monster has a card or not.

Actually no. This is what we thought for a while but cards DO drop from unclickable monsters, like Iron Hook (Iron Hog error monster.)

This has never happened to me even though I use a touchpad. My touchpad requires a good amount of force to register a click, though, so maybe that's why. Also, I play with my left hand on ASDF and my right on the arrow keys, and since the arrow keys are well to the right of the touchpad, neither hand comes very close to my touchpad unless I want it to.

All in all I'm more likely to get killed by being click-glitched from resizing my chat box. (Yes, that still happens to me at least once a day. Tongue The "fix" made it less likely, but it still happens.)

Thanks for the info, anyway. =) When I have more cards, I might use it to quickly check a monster's HP/MP or something...

This is not particularly useful for the reasons BombsAway has stated. Also, if you really wanted to know if a monster dropped a card, you could just check the Monster Book while you're on a boat ride or something.
