I want to ask about the Snipe cooldown time , after the patch , will it be 4seconds or 5 ?

Out of curiosity, how would a 109 kandiva rank against a nisrock/arund? Ie it is the equivalent of a xxx att nisrock/arund.
I know its hard to compare between strless and str bows, but yeah just curious. (alright I'm just lost as to where I should go to dig up the formulas to calc this)

For me, I think that bow would be about as good as a 120 or 121 Nisrock if I reset out all my STR. For the record, the higher level you are, the less that bow is worth. Even so, it's an excellently scrolled bow and you should hang onto it.

I kind of want to make a bowman. They look awesome. I'm going to be a hunter, and I'm gonna try STRless. What equips should I use/will it be expensive? And at what level does STR start beating STRless (I probably won't get that high anyway)? Finally, what part of bowmen is fun/not fun, because at this point I'm only playing Maple for the fun of it. Thanks guys.

That's good you're making a bowman, they really do rock, lots. One problem though; Please, don't ever make a STRless. It's too much money for too little a damage boost. It's hardly noticeable if there is a STRless bowman. They just...stink. They only do like, 200-300 more damage than a regular bowman. They just stink. Go regular, please.

Did anyone notice the spawn rate of newties changing after the patch, or is it just me? Before, they used to spawn at set intervals of around 9 seconds each, but now, spawn cycles seem to randomly fluctuate between the original spawn cycle time and a little bit more than half of it. Usually, on the bottom, I'll kill the first transforming newtie, then the second newties, then the nest golem, and the two newts spawn immediately after that. Sometimes now, the second newtie spawns right after the nest golem finishes transforming, throwing everything off.

Strless is actually a great idea for the low-level archers (like below 90-ish). Strless weapons, no need to mess around with base str and changing equipment, and actually higher damage for the same amount of funding.

f3 Don't discard strless! Besides, Acim said he wasn't likely to play too long on the bowman, so strless for him (provided he stays below lvl100) would be more beneficial. Of coz, over lvl 100 is another story. ..
Also, if I recall correctly, Sniperapogee is a strless MM and...his range KICKS URS. Now who stinks?
Acim, if you want to try strless, then a bow of magical destruction or kandiva is what you're after. The cost of the bow will depend on how strong you want to be.

I mainly wanted to try a STRless because 1) the Maple bows are easy to get during the Maple event and 2) you don't have to keep switching equipment. Plus, I probably won't get to 100 and even a 300 damage boost will help me. Thanks guys.

the second newtie respawning after the first transforms has always happened to me, and I always had a +0- 1s variation in its spawn time

I feel stupid asking this, but what the heck drops phoenix 20?
skeles used to, i don't even know if they do now (since the pirate update, drop tables seem to have changed a bit).
it's gonna be irritating hunting the fm daily for a book which is basically worthless...

Skelegons should still be dropping it. Pirate update (or any recent update for that matter) didn't make Mastery Book drops jump around.
I found three Phoenix20's with my first use of an Owl for it. Just Owl for it every day until one pops up.

Probably quite similar/identical to my build. Most people go with Concentrate before Phoenix, but I didn't. I (obviously) maxed Hurricane, Sharp Eyes, Bow Expert and Maple Warrior (19) first. That put me at level 157 with 1 in Dragon's Breath and Phoenix, as well. I was able to use Phoenix20 by level 159. Lcedfire is 158. Maybe getting it to be ready in a level?

This has happened to me too. Right after the 3rd Newtie dies in the spawn it magically reappears and takes two more shots. No idea why this is happening.

I have 27 BE, but yeah. same build. it was what you said about phoenix that made me decide to get it over conc (i love questing)
i have 2 hamstring as well. i was under the impression when i put the point in that it would work at bosses. it didn't, so i opened my skillbook to put it in hurricane instead. accidentally clicked hamstring again. oh well.
edit - and it was xbish who made me decide to leave be at 27. 3sp for 1 attack is a horrible trade imo.

You definitely won't be disappointed then. Phoenix before Conc was an excellent choice for me. I don't regret it for a moment. It helps TREMENDOUSLY while questing and monster card hunting. I can't even begin to describe how invaluable it's been to me. I realize that effect can be achieved with level 1 Phoenix, but the longer timer is a godsend for me (hate recasting stuff) and the big damage of maxed Phoenix has been awesome for stronger mobs. A summon OHKOing monsters with 10k+ HP = legendary.
And while others may disagree, I also use Phoenix during Skele training and find it invaluable there, as well. It improves my killing ability/speed noticeably. I find it hard to train there without Phoenix because I've grown so accustomed to him having my back.
That said, however, now that I've been working on Concentrate (level 10 atm), I've really fallen in love with it too. lol It's more helpful for bossing, though.

lol... i struggle with the skele minidungeon. phoenix would only cripple me there, imo. i dont have a pet, so the less hits i take the better.
newts, though... phoenix will be very useful there, because i'm gonna get hit every two seconds no matter what i do.
i don't hunt anego, and my pap solos take exactly 8 minutes. the only real use of conc imo is for bossing, and since i only do pap...

You're going to max it eventually, no matter what. A lot of people just recommend using those three points later so that you can start on other skills instead. 27-30 on BE only adds 1 weapon attack. Personally, I see no reason to wait. Just max it now and get it done with.
