Noticed something this patch that pretty much makes me disgusted in the player market in gMS right now -
Hard to find maple weapons results in massive hoarding, stockpiling, inflation, and general greed. People who have no intention of ever using the guns/knuckles/shields are hoarding them, buying all of them they can find to hold for several months after the patch. This in itself makes the items appear even more rare than they really are, further inflating them (vicious cycle).
This is the first year the pirate weapons have been available and, thanks to the actions of a small percentage of each server, few will actually be able to enjoy them. Even when the anniversary worked this way 2 years ago, people were still able to get the weapons they wanted/needed at a relatively decent price once the patch had been going for more than a day or two, and people were quite willing to share information on where to get each item.
Tldr, bad move Nexon for making Maple Items difficult to find this year, and I'm disgusted in the community right now for the greed and hoarding therein.
-Note-
This isn't a rant, just a reflection. While there I am a bit angry over the way this patch is working out, I really don't find it PoH worthy.

Couldn't agree more. In fact, I was ranting about this same thing just the other day.
It's ridiculous to go about looking in the FM and see every level 35 Maple Knuckle, or Gun, or whatever priced at like 20 million mesos. Of course, people are making it worse for the Pirate equips, since they're "new" and "rare". I find it stupid. What makes me angrier is the people who actually pay the price and egg them on to keep marking the same prices.
I want to scroll at least ONE decent Maple Golden Claw (level 64 Knuckle) before the anniversary is over, but at this point, I don't think I'll even be able to get ONE to try. I had such high hopes, I wanted a 70+ ATT, close to 80 one. I was actually going to try scrolling my own godly item for once, and now I can't even attempt it because of every Golden Claw being priced at 30-35 mil.
Trying to find them isn't any better. I spent my last bit of NX on 2x Drop and within those 4 hours, I only found 1 Maple weapon. It's just not really fair.

Yes, but each person trying to profit off someone else adds up - somewhere, somebody loses out, and in this case, it's the low level players that the weapons were actually designed for. Basically, all that's happening right now is endless circulation between merchants or hoarding. Can't decide which is worse.

Bera is fine, well, not so much fine, but Golden Claw's are pretty abundant, and seem to stock from 6(terribad) to 13(near-perf)mil.

is not community fault, if you get a chance to make mesos why not take advantage of this? but i agree with a point on this thread, the drop rate of weapons this year fail. events are supposed to be fun and free for all, in theory the event is working, but the truth is the bad drop rate dont help anyone besides ppl with mesos/ NX in the pocket. even with NX is still hard to get a maple weapon, i used 2x drop (4x drop with family) and just got bad results in all my trys to hunt a maple weapon. i remind last year, i could hunt on 1x and find at least 2 ~3 weapons hour, besides the glitched cake boss always droping weapons, what helped all the community since low to high lvls, nx and nxless players but this year i just dont get it, i guess i will wait next year event >_<

There was once a girl who asked me this in my Spanish class, because I told her I didn't like George Bush. Yes, she was blonde.
No, he's an ex-king.
Yeah, I really don't like what happens either. We've all seen this happen, and anyone who has enough money to do it, does so for the money. We all would. I do it on WoW with low priced items. Lots of people do. However, the difference is the ms community is so much more demanding of a profit. The economy in this game is worse than any others because of the drop rates and how people use/abuse/hoard, and combine all three, items.
However, if you've noticed, it's the FM guilds. Of course it is. What other jerks would be overpricing stuff? Well, if you look, they're also upgrading to 64 versions. So get a spot near their shop, (In a FM that isn't ac/dc-hacked.) and put up a shop selling leaves and sunshine. The general price in Scania right now is 2k, so I'd start selling there. You could always leave an offer for them to buy from you in their shop, but their arrogance usually has them ignoring you.
Anyways, on a side note, the FM guilds did something a bit worse during the gach box event. They bought all the Gen 30's because the price went down, and on top of that, bought the 20's to try and pass them as 30's. That's a scam that really made me mad. Good thing I always check the item, nor did I need 30. But I did see a 20 sold for 180mil... Not only that, but another side effect it had that I didn't consider until recently is that Gen 20 prices went up to 10mil+. Usually less than 4mil, this decreased my pocket even more. Thankfully the first one worked.
Just wanted to rant about the FM guilds myself.

No, but I'm also not ruthless when it comes to capitalism. I despise things that only further the gap between rich and poor, especially in what is supposed to be a fun and carefree game. When people begin hoarding things they don't need it makes the game that much more difficult for those that do need them. The playerbase that the Maple Weaps are designed for are those that can't afford/find/make powerful gear (acc for warrior/brawler weapons, extra avoid and low stat cost for thieves, HP to help with bossing, etc). The players hoarding them are instead causing these items to fall into the same category of nice but out of reach.
I'm not entirely against merchanting, when it comes to rare and extremely powerful equips - these rightfully should take time and effort to get, and shouldn't be easily obtained. However, items that are supposed to be part of a celebration and helpful to everybody shouldn't be so rare that hoarding/merching is possible.

It's hard for me to tell if you dislike merchants or the drop rate more. If the items have a low drop rate then of course the price is going to be high. Everyone and their mother wants a maple weapon and they're hard to get. Merchants can't effect the market that heavily unless they're insanely rich. It's supply and demand. Rare drop + everyone wants = it's going to be expensive with or without merchants.

Merchants make rare drops worse, though. When something is extremely rare, merchants(or merchant guilds, better still) can dish out some extra mesos to buy out all of the item(which isn't hard at the rate these items are coming), and charge ridiculous prices. I have to agree with him. I'd be pretty angry at the Merchants as well, if this were affecting Bera as hard as it seems to be affecting some servers. If you really want it, you can be made to pay their price, and then, the price can be as large as the consumer's wallet. Which in some cases, is very very large

The drop rate, which opens the door for Merchs to take advantage of it. I know merchs are just taking advantage to make a quick buck, I'm disappointed in Nexon for giving them that oppurtunity.

Yeah, I really hate what Nexon did with the drop rates. LAst year I would get a 2x card for the 2x drop events (which stil worked >_>) and got 10 maple items an hour.
What I find funny is that maple shield prices are still high. With everyone and their mother hunting bubblings, you'd have thought the price would have dropped >_>

Didn't something like that happen about 2 years ago as well? Maybe even on the first anniversary event?

I know how you feel, but we still have about 35 days of the event left. Most weapons are starting to become affordable. The only problem I see right now is the lack of shields. I am sure they will deflate with people at Bubbling 24/7. Just look at the price of leaves.

Last year I hung out at z-lupins the entire time hunting maple weapons and 75% of them came in the last 2 weeks.
Could have been dumb luck though

It's stupid. Maple items used to be ,and were meant to be cheap and easily obtainable. At least the golden leaves give maple weapons(I got a knuckle). Some random person just gave it to me, and I traded the knuckle for 12 Vital bullets I can't use yet and 3 mil, even though I could've gotten more.
It's stupid, last year I killed a few monsters and found something, this year I've been hunting Bubblings for 2.5 hours(with 15 minutes of 2x drop too), nothing. Golems for 2 hours, nothing. I do wish my mother started hunting items for me.
