I was looking around for guides and I came upon Kasuhitomi's Outlaw build. It looked interesting and so I am planning to follow it. However, my build isn't exactly the same as Kasuhitomi. I just wanted some opinions and critiques on my Outlaw build and how the points is distributed throughout the levels.

The other thought that has come to my mind is that, what do Outlaws really think about maxing Flamethrower (as in putting more then 11 points into it)? There has been a lot of mixed thoughts on Flamethrower and it's usefulness. Because of that, I just wanted some opinions on the Corsairs that have not added more then 11 points into Flamethrower and the Corsairs that have added more then 11 points into Flamethrower.

If the build seems fine to all of you guys, then I will be following it.

Doesn't seem bad at all. Only question I'd ask is why you'd have more than 1 point into Flamethrower before you nearly max Octo, and why you wouldn't get Gaviota to 15 asap right after Octo 21. Then again, you have your reasons, I'm sure. My build followed a specific-pattern so that I wouldn't have 28/28 Flame and Ice by 100. I wanted to stick with Ice to freeze mobs, and get Flame at my early 100's for testing purposes, or for fun, like .. at Kents!

Other than that, your build seems fine. 9/10! I can't say much about lv 28 Flame vs Lv 11 Flame or whatever either, since I'm not an Outlaw yet. Still lv 49, lol.

Thanks for the input Kasuhitomi! Well, I really don't know. I thought about just leaving Octopus at 21 because at 21 it summons for 30 seconds. After that level is just more damage %. But hey, if you think I should max it, then I probably will before I start on Flamethrower.

There is still plentiful time to have changes! Biggrin

Hmm, then again, I posted this on lolbasil as well, and there was this one guy that said 30FT/26IS would be better then 28/28...

if you're going to use flamethrower, max it. no point in putting both skills at lev28 when the extra ice splitter damage from level 26-28 would be less than the flamethrower damage from 28-30 (if you're going to train with flamethrower!). I'm not personally a fan of FT, but I understand why some gunslingers on gMS would prefer to max it.. kind of.

also, do NOT leave octopus at level 21. the fourth job octopus requires that you have the third job variant maxed. not only that, but you would be missing out on a lot of extra damage.

Honestly it doesn't matter how you deal with the last 4 points in Ice/FT. The main reason for the build is because Gaviota becomes useless after just a few levels in 4th job (yay look at me 7k damage on one monster every spawn! This is like 1/5 of what my level 1 Wrath of the Octo does).

I'd max Octo before going into FT. FT isn't really that useful unless you're going to Hime or something (haven't tried it with the increased range, but should be pretty nice now that you can hit them without getting hit back). It's more of a hunting/back up mob skill in most situations, rather than something you'd spam to train. Max Octo is great for Newties, saves you a shot or two per spawn.

I maxed FT after burst and ice, and I'm glad I did. I find the Keep nightshadow map to be excellent and alternating burst-FT-burst-FT is the best way to keep 5 or 6 of them under control.

Then again, I understand that not everyone has been getting into the keep since mid 9x. >.>

My only comment for you is why split up FT and ice at 28/28?

Nice Build Denny it'd very similar to mine cept I didn't see a reason to raise ice splitter beyond lvl 26 and went ahead with the decision to max Flamethrower. Mainly since I only use ice splitter for the freeze effect not the dmg. Excellent

Honestly, I don't think it matters what order you do your stuff in after you get Burst and Ice. I personally maxed Octo right after, but it wasn't really all that helpful.

Hey everyone, thanks for all your input! However, I was revising it last night, and I guess I'll be doing 26IS/30FT. Here's the new build where I'll be getting IS to 26, put 1 point into Gaviota and max out Octopus, then Flamethrower (I'm thinking about going to Nightshadows as well once I hit my mid 9x - using Jr. Newties as an alternative training area unless if I leech). After Flamethrower will be getting Gaviota to 15, stopping that there and maxing Homing Beacon.

this.

After burst fire and ice the rest depends where you train at. The end 120 build is the exact same as my own though.
